I actually thought I didn't like Pete Holmes even though Ive been a fan of the rest of his "posse" of comics from Chicago for years. But his show's been an eye opener. What Conan said is right and it's impressive that he could see that and give Pete this shot.

I Love Pete Holmes, but he has to also be well liked and respected by his fellow comedians because he wasnt on the air that long but he had like EVERY good comedian come on this show.

+Stephen Carmickle I feel like his show doesnt quite work as a late night show. If he did an internet show, I think he would do a lot better. Pretty much if he just put his shows on the internet on specific dates, or maybe live streamed it as if it were actual tv. His demographic just isn't the late night gang.

There are a few reasons why Pete was and never could be as funny as other hosts like Conan. He laughs too much for one. Notice Conan during this clip, when he laughs its usually very short and he says most things with a straight face, while keeping the humorous mood. On the other hand there's Pete, laughing his ass off, leaning forward in his chair, covering his face, etc. Notice posture too. Conan sits back on his chair with both hands to the side, very casual and uses his hands during conversation. Pete is generally leaning forward and doesn't move as much as he talks.

Conan's laugh was very annoying too back in the early 90s when he was with nbc but he somehow managed to change it for what it is now, I guess Pete will do the same, give it time :)

Pete Holmes has got to work on his laugh. Really annoying. Makes me lose respect for him. The weird laugh face and holding his head while he silently laughs is stupid.
How does one work on their laugh?
I really wish Conan had become a lawyer. Everyone in the business praises him for being a great guy. Which is awesome. But he’s also not funny and ruins interviews by not playing along with the jokes. I’d rather he be a dickhead I’ve never heard of than an unfunny late night host everyone loves and adores.
