im coming back to this song after 40 yrs. I had the intro down as my first fingerpicking song but never could stick with the tabs to figure out the rest of the song but thanks to your visuals and explanation; I think im going to finally finish this song.
On the move from the Am to the G (then Dm7), the G is best with the 1st string played as a G (3rd fret). It plays better into the Dm7 and on into the next suggestion, play the 1st Am bar staying in on the top 4 strings (D-G-B-E) and the 2nd Am bar shifted back to the original 'middle strings (A-D-G-B). It fits much nicer with the melody. I got this from the original sheet music I bought in the 70's. :)
Thanks man love this song it was one of my first fingerstyle songs but I have a few mistakes I’ll have to brush up on my skills stamina is wat I need thanks man 👍👍Brian Ireland 🇮🇪
Really enjoying learning this one. Having so much fun learning fingerpicking these days. And thanks for the Pink Floyd ‘is there anybody out there’ also. Subscribing now.
Glad you're enjoying it. You can find the TAB here: sixstringfingerpicking.com/songs/dustinthewind/ (this lesson will be fully updated next week). Cheers
@@SixStringFingerpicking thank you Chris .. with what I've learnt from your intermediate finger-picking course I surprised myself and got through the chord picking of the whole song in one sitting & without the tab .. I'm really impressed with the results from your teaching style. I'm already setting my sights on picking the tune and chords/bass .. that won't be one sitting.
6:55 oh my god dude "play the top string with the fifth string" why are you saying top string if you're then gonna say the fifth string??? be consistent with the names or otherwise it's gonna be really fking hard to follow just say "play the first string with the sixth string"

@@treetoplake That's really great to hear, thanks a lot. Sounds like you're doing very well
$7.99 for Tab.
@@SixStringFingerpicking Chris, you don't mean that the tab will be updated? Already bought it.
Instead of the Dm7 in the chorus....I use a Dm.......like the sound melodically, plus its easier for an old fingerpicker to play
Not a problem at all
Could you do “Man of The World” by Eric Clapton?
Man of the world was fleetwood mac!
