- Story Engine Deck Review for Writing & Gaming Prompts
The Story Engine Deck is a really awesome product that can be used in a variety of ways. You can use it as writing or gaming prompts, you can do collaborative storytelling, comparative storytelling, or competitive storytelling even. We have used it for collaborative storytelling and as prompts already and it has worked extremely well. I would recommend the Story Engine Deck to anyone who loves rolling on random tables for Dungeons & Dragons or for any writers that like using tools to overcome writers block.
Welcome to Master the Game with Juce where we discuss various topics that are related to Tabletop RPGs. We are best known for our videos about optimizing from character creation to encounters. We have a strong focus on both players and game masters alike.

This was such a great review, and an excellent demo of how the deck works! My favorite bit was around 7:10, where you developed such a cool interpretation of a challenging prompt! I love seeing how people fill in the space created by the cards, and find unexpected connections that unlock a full story!
I can’t wait to try some more complex connections of cards. There are so many excellent ways to use these.
I haven't tried them, but I'm very pleased with my Narata Storytelling Cards.
What are those?
I finally finished my first game system for a solo rpg!!
🤩🤩🤩
Yeah? What can you tell us about it?
Pretty neat. I do like prompts to help me create. I'd think about it and go from there.
Check out my pinned post for a 10% discount. I don’t get a commission or anything for it but they reached out to me after the video to offer my audience that extra discount.
It’s worth it if you ask me. These are awesome!
This sounds like something I might use for an RPG that I'm creating.
Oh like you would incorporate these into the mechanics of the game? That would be interesting. How would that work?
@@MastertheGamerpg I'm creating an original RPG. Story and all, and I will hear or see simple things and want to add them to my story. Even hearing simple words sometimes. One time I heard the word schism on a show and wanted to incorporate some kind of feudal family lore in my world.
Anyway, I feel like the cards could add deeper inspiration.
Aspect cards are to be used alongside an agent or anchor card.
Thanks! Yeah I found that it does work better that way. Considering it is just to inspire it worked ok how I attempted to do it. The directions on how to use the cards come in handy and I should follow them more closely in the future.

thanks for the vid! Can you use this mid-game while SOLO playing an ttrpg?
You probably could as a prompt behind a DM screen. Not sure I would do it personally though.
would have loved more of a POV flip through of all of the cards.
I will have to try that sometime soon. Maybe early next week I will do that. Or maybe I can do a short showing off each deck of cards.
@@MastertheGamerpg that would be amazing!!
Wait, how many cylinders?
V12 baby! This will blow away any V10, V8, V6, or V4. This things has so much torque!!!
