As I’m watching this video again it made me giggle when you said someday I’ll have a shop, and now you have a huge business with five green houses. I’m so happy for you, you’ve came along way in a very short time l. That would totally be my dream job, as for now my garden vegetables and flowers are my hobby.

I have followed about 25 You Tubers over the last year. Since finding Flower Hill Farm, you have quickly become my all time favorite. I love your humor, your genuineness, your humbleness, your exuberance, your adoration for flowers, your willingness to share your successes and failures, the list goes on. I especially love how you highlight individual flowers by photographing them up close. When you share your Mikayla Miranda Dahlia I immediately ordered it! Please know you brighten my life and the lives of many others. Thank you so much for sharing your flower life with all of us. Your enthusiasm is contageous!

Thank you so much for being just you and showing us your beautiful flowers.
Thank you also for staying positive no matter what.
Thank you for not sort of telling us you need Payton because this old 71 year old lady living in the UK would love to do many Payton (sp) dyslexic, but just can't.
Have only come across one person actually demanding that if we watch her videos, we should pay.
    Upsets me so.
    So thank you.
You and your lovely family are a breath of fresh air and I am always happy to see you.
God bless in all your ventures xxx

I'm so glad you shared your floppy Zinnia stems. I have read that you are supposed to 'shake' them and somehow tell if they are going to be a stander or a flopper, but I don't seem to be able to tell the difference and I always have a few that flop. Glad I'm not the only one! I feel better!

I really enjoy your videos! Your the flower friend I wish I had. I think I scare friends away because of my love of gardening. It's good to find a friend who has the same passion for it. I have friends who get absolutely offended if I say I can't do this or that because I have to get my garden chores done. Or they question me, "how could you possibly spend 8-10 hours in your yard". They must think I am lying. But I am not, come Spring and Summer.....you can find me many days in my yard from sun up to sun down. Few years ago when I had a serious slug issue eating all my prized hostas, I would be out there until midnight, killing slugs. Hahaha I think that's when some of my friends think I lost my mind. 😛. Nope, just had to save my plants 😁

Great video!! Usually zinnias and phlox get hit with fungus, and a baking soda and water mix will take care of it, also beats back black spot and black rot on grapes. Keep it up!! And those glads are to die for!!!

    • @janetcorrao5072
      @janetcorrao5072 4 года назад

Now that I am looking at the zinnias in the vid, it looks like a combination of black rot caused by high humidity, too much rain and high temps last few weeks. This is where you mark the varieties that did well, and those that experience stem collape as a result of the rot. And make sure when you clean up to trash and not compost the diseased plants!!!

Love your video! FYI--you might be surprised about your kitty and the Oriental lily. I had a gorgeous persian cat for 16 years who would nibble plants at random, but when I brought lilies into the house and happily pull flowers out of arrangements with abandon. With lilies, she would sit near them and put her nose next to them to smell their scent--it was obvious she really liked the fragrance. But she never ate them.

Lilies in the house - I'm thinking of those large chicken wire, or screen Cloche thingies.
They are bell shaped, and some can be quite decorative.
You can use it cover the entire vase and bouquet of Lilies, and that way they are safe to have in the house!

@@FlowerHillFarm - how about we think up a new name for the Cloche while we're at it?!
It's just such a weird word...
I think it's French, or something, right?
Well anyway, I haven't had enough coffee yet today to even BEGIN naming things, so...
      yeah, that'll have to wait...
Bcuz I'll tell you right now the only thing I can think of is - The Lilly Cage.
Obviously when I say THAT out loud there's only one response, which is -
      the sound of crickets.
And then even the crickets fall silent.
Anyway - I'm thinkin you should rename the Cloche.

Do you have a vlog similar to 'Dreaming of Dahlias' for Gladiolas and lilies? Where you buy? What you bought 2020? Ordering for 2021? Specialty Cut Flowers is back in stock - just ordered Sunday 22nd. OMG My zinnias have the same black spots. :( I think it's Alternaria blight.

Hmmm. I did a bulb order video recently...and Where I Order video. I did not do one for glads or lilies-- I'll have to next time I place an order!

Great Video.. Lovely energy. Would love to hear more about your pricing of your flowers.. ie do you have a per stem deal with the florist ? Thanks for being you. :)

Hi! I base my prices off the the Boston USDA Wholesale floral prices for my florist ...and I usually give her a better deal. (I'm a sucker for my hometown). She usually throws me a few extra dollars than what I ask.

Hi Nicole, what was that purple cactus dahlia that you mentioned in the beginning? I've got very limited space and those super prolific ones would be a godsend. As much as I love blue bayou, they are not great for my containers. I'm also considering getting Jomanda for the next year.Cheers!

Hi! That is called Bright Cactus Star's Favourite. I ordered from Dutch Bulbs! They featured that photo of mine on their instagram last year! 🙂💐

I’m totally behind on my RUclips watching this week. I have a backyard veggie garden with some flowers but very limited space. I live vicariously through your lovely flower farm. Just wanted you to know that your content is very informative, entertaining and I always have a chuckle. I know you grow many things but I would love a “best in show” from what you have grown video. Also, a wrap up (u live u learn)-what did well and what didn’t (what u killed😜). And a “hello flower friend” t-shirt would be great wit an illustration of one of ur bouquets maybe. Please no white cause I don’t understand why 🤔people keep making white T-shirts for gardeners.🌻

Hi Nicole! Have a great big smile after watching your videos!! U r killing me bc after watching your videos I keep going n buying more seeds n more bulbs! I think u need to start a support group call it “Flowers Anonymous” for addicted flower people to stop ordering seeds n bulbs. What was the name of lily u were holding? Thx for your video 🌻
