These are somewhat technical to be "shocking". But USA beating Pakistan in the T20 World Cup is shocking in a very non-technical sense.
These are very 'technical' shockers, agreed.
Don't believe it! 😲
Check out the members of the US team, then not so shocking.
@@jenniferharrison8915 There has been some concerns about the state of the pitches being used in America. One side (think it might have been India) were all out for 77. in all cases the team who batted first always lost the match
@Westcountrynordic It is that one pitch in New York. They have a modular stadium made just a couple of months ago, and they didn't let it settle by playing enough matches on it before the World Cup. Even outfield is not properly set and you can see dirt puffs every time fielder tries to slide. Rest of their stadiums are all right.
This video is really aimed at people who know the game....
Yeah
Man, I could talk to you for 10 minutes for each clip to explain all that's happening. The complexity and nuance of cricket never ceases to amaze - and I love that.
There are millions of Americans who know and love Cricket. THEY are the ones the media should be seeking out for insights!
Most are immigrants from other countries
It's alright! Let them learn. The more people learn about the game, the more the game grows.
After football/soccer, cricket is the most popular game in the world...........
1:39 That throw is nothing but swagger. He's taken an unbelievable catch and he throws the ball wherever and however he wishes!
Cricket doesn't have rules, they are laws. The ball is very hard. There is a technique to bowling, not throwing or pitching. I learnt to bowl as a child, for my brothers who preferred to be at the wickets. A game played in summer.
Hey are u Aussie?
In Pakistan , we play it in every weather except in North ...
8:35 That white line is called the Crease. When you bowl, you must release the ball before stepping over the crease. Also, if a batsman is outside the crease while the ball is in play, and the wickets are hit with ball, that batsman is out.
no way someone can be this out bowling no ball he was compromised match fixing
Yeah, that was career over for Brett Lee because he was retiring from professional cricket after that game. Going out on a hat trick would’ve been a fairy tale finish not just because getting three wickets in six balls is rare, but his teammate’s fumble lost the match. It was the grand final too.
A most shocking moments compilation should include the underarm bowling incident.
the T20 world cup is being played in the West Indies and the USA right now, broadcast by Prime Video!
To answer the last one. Some part of the bowlers foot has to be behind the white line. Otherwise, it is deemed an illegal delivery, and the batting team gets one run and the bowler has to deliver
the ball again.
Brett Lee, epic fast bowler, wicket first ball and a foiled Hat Trick! 🙋🇭🇲 Catch, no feet nor the ball can go over the rope barrier! The bat must be grounded at the run's end! No ball, or wide, means free runs or extra ball are awarded! Lbw means the ball would have hit the wickets anyway! The last one's foot was well over the bowling line! Complex! 👍
be quiet you australian who puts shrimp on the barbie. america is the best country in the world.
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲💪💪💪
Saturday morning cricket with the lovely Ryan
For the last one, for the delivery to be legal the bowler's front foot has to have some part behind the line when it lands.
Usually when the bowler oversteps that line, the bowler is no more than one or two inches too far.
To be that far over suggests that it was done deliberately.
And people can bet on insanely specific things, like which delivery will (happen to) be a No-ball - which is what that delivery is called when it's released from beyond the white line.
@@jvvoid I'd love to know who's taking these bets, like if someone said "oh, I bet the ball in over 7.2 will be a no ball" I'd be suspicious of why they specifically think that particular delivery.
Mate, Ryan don't feel lost, it is a tough sport. Stay with it, I know you like it, you will get there.
the last one is because the bowler had his front foot across the line. the 3rd last clip is a disaster because the bowler bowled a bowl, which was considered a "no ball" because its was so outside of the pitch line, ("no ball" = 1 extra point for batting team) then the ball was missed by his teammate and touch the outer boundary rope on the field (bal touching the rope = 4 extra points to the batting team) and because this was a "no ball" to start with, the bowling team will have to bowl an extra ball to the batting team (which can potentially land at any score). so he gave out 5 scores on this ball and an extra ball. if this thing happens close to match end or in a high pressure match, it can destroy the whole match rhythm and also lead to some teams losing the game!!
You should do a live reaction video so that viewers can clear your doubts while you are watching the clips.
I'll be honest Ryan....you did pretty well sussing out whats going on for a first watch 👍
Leg before wicket (LBW) & arm before wicket (ABW) is called as out because the ball is in line to hit the wicket and can only be stopped with the bat.
love the honest title :)
Ryan just so you know a 'Hat Trick' is when you get 3 people out one directly after the other. Its a pretty big deal in cricket. Also blocking the wicket with any part of your body is LBW (Leg Before Wicket) is just the terminology.
Something you need to bear in mind is that a cricket ball is harder and heavier than a baseball ball.
❤ cricket ❤ is emotion ❤
That starcs wide ball/no ball was like 50cents first pitch
Last clip, front foot can't even have a toe over the white line... that was almost a long jump 😂
I loved the lost look on your face😂😂😂
Don't have a refs in cricket. They are called umpires
Bro Cricket 🏏 is my life Cricket is my heart Cricket is my blood
Ryan you only know one thing about Cricket, " it has a ball" the rest you need HELP with.
Talking about real shockers in cricket, this week has produced one of the biggest. The T20 Cricket World Cup is currently on, hosted by Caribbean countries and the US. On Thursday, the US (ranked 20th in the world in T20) beat Pakistan (ranked 6th). Congrats on your first cricket win in any cricket global competition. 🏏🥳
The US won against Canada in the opening match… so their win against Pakistan wasn’t their ‘first cricket win un any cricket global competition’.
With bowling on the last one you were correct you need to release the ball before crossing the line (crease) and the ball needs to land in a hittable area (also lines off the crease) if you don't it counts as a no ball (a no ball cost the bowling team 1 run and then they have bowl it again , the following ball won't count as a out if it hits the wickets or caught out only if a run out occurs.
You need react on top 10 deadliest bouncer in cricket. You will be shocked
Only the bat can defend the wicket! If it hits you then you're out
The batter can't impede the fielders either from getting to the wicket
Bat has to touch ground over line to be safe
Over boundary if it's in your hand and your feet touch the ground it's 6 runs. If you throw it back over boundary it may be only 4 or less but you can throw to yourself or another fielder inside boundary
Bowlers overarm at 08-90 mph split second to guess where ball is gonna be and some bowls can hit floor and bounce sideways through bat or around your side to hit wicket
Watch some of Shane warnes bowling
In the last clip, a part of his foot must remain behind the line for it to be a legal delivery. Sometimes bowlers cross the line a little by mistake and it's given a no-ball. He did it by, like, a foot.
Yes, that's why they thought he'd been bribed!
U must watch cricket explained to baseball fans .it will help u
8:44 no sir his leg was out the line that's why it's a no ball, mostly its almost a bit out of the line but that far, so that was done intentionally
When a bowlers foot has stepped over the line "crease" it's deemed a No ball. So that is 1 run already and the batsman can't be out on it but the batter can still hit it to gain more runs. The bowler has to re-bowl that ball again. The bowler gets 6 bowls per over if they don't do any No balls which then it becomes more than 6 bowls depending how many more No balls they bowl.
The point of that 'overstep' was how far it was. That is suspiciously long for a front foot no ball.
A 'no ball' is a delivery when the bowler oversteps the line while delivering the ball. His foot should be atleast on the line. A 'no ball' earns a single run to the batting team as extras. Also to the number of runs conceded by the bowler.
In The last clip, the bowler causes a "no-ball" as his foot goes way outside the crease while releasing the ball, the foot is so far away that it's shocked everyone coz foot landing that far away never happens. That's why they're saying it's match fixing ie the whole bowling team or only the bowler has been trying to lose the match intentioanally probably for money.
Watch this one twice, and you'll get it - I think. I've only watched it once. It's two minutes, and I'm 68 years ;-)
I would recommend snooker - in my opinion the greatest "sport" (it's a game with obese world champions!) in the world. You have fifteen red balls in a triangle, and in order from 2 to 7 points a yellow, a green, then brown, blue, pink and black. The red balls pocketed gives you just one point, and you have to "pot" (put in a pocket like you do in pool) "reds" and "colors" alternately until your opponent is unable to make enough points to beat you. It's the best!
Congratulations you win against Pakistan 😁😅
1:21 the batter must use the bat to stop the ball from hitting the wicket, not their legs. If they use their legs it is out "leg before wicket" or lbw. Howver a batter should only be giving out if the ball would have gone through to hit the wickets, which clearly wasn't the case here. But it was giving out. The rule is "leg before wicket" but it applies to any part of the body, hence the "arm before wicket" at 6:23. Because the batsman has ducked low, his arm was in front of the wicket, hence why it was given out. He was probably ducking on the assumption it would bounce harmlessly over the top of the wickets.
That was Brett Lee's last ever game (due to retirement). The Perth Scorchers were batting and needed just one ball off the last three balls of the innings. Lee then took 2 wickets, meaning the Scorchers needed a single run off the last ball. They hit it straight to a fielder but ran anyway, and the ball was thrown in for what would have been an easy runout. All the fielder had to do was catch the ball and tap the wickets with it. But the fielder messed up and let an easy runout slip through his fingers, meaning the run was complete and the Scorchers won. Basically Lee's team, the Sydney Sixers, botched the last ball and lost the game. Which was the Big Bash League Final. They basically threw away the trophy with that single error.
The boiler right foot mass behind the line
If you catch the ball outside the borderline it does not count. The batter gets six runs. The T20 world cup is currently been played in the Usa and Carribian. There is a match between South Africa and Holland today.
Given that the T20 World Cup is happening in the US right now, it would be worth it to learn the game. I strongly suggest Nimh Explains the Rules of Cricket to learn the game.
There should’v been the archer wicket for a six in the video too
The T20 World Cup is in NYC this month. Tomorrow's India Vs Pakistan is 20k sold-out, plus 5k watching on the big screen at the Mets stadium. Don't bother getting a cab or buying from a store for the next 2 days on the East Coast.
The clip of the bowler overstepping the line was 'shocking' because of the distance by which he did it. If fast bowlers do overstep it might be by an inch or two. When it was that much people immediately began to thinkcit was deliberate by the bowler, because he was paid to bowl a no ball at that time so people could bet on it happening. In 2010 a young Pakistani bowler did it in England, and after an investigation he, his captain, and another senior player were tried in court and all three sent to prison and given playing bans as well. They had been bribed by a Bookie to do it.
Hey man u know what USA an underdog defeated one of the giant in cricket Pakistan .
The USA beating Pakistan this week is the biggest International cricket upset for many years and has been mentioned on Network tv in America the last few days; you should check that out, and BILLIONS of dollars are now being spent to make cricket more accessible in the US.
KL Rahul "Whole Country Playing against 11 guys"...
Kohli
Title should be joe root react to cricket moments 😂😂
The bowlers front foot must be on or behind the line when the ball is released, otherwise it is an illegal delivery (a no-ball).
Cricket. Second most popular sport in the world. After football ⚽
For the catch where he confused with the rule, yes that used to be all right but now they have changed and it’s not
yes its hard to hit the wickets at that length and yes its very hard to catch a stone at the speed
When a bowler bowls the ball his front foot has to be on the line.
Last clip, the front foot needs to be behind the line
There was a match fixing (betting) scandal going on and for a spinner (not fast) bowler that was deliberate
You need a fundamental understanding of the basics first bud!
Maybe the popping crease!
Do more cricket contents
Ryan, the rules of Cricket are hugely complex and I don't think that there is anyone in the entire world that knows them all.
Nonsense.
Not that complex really
@@rocketrabble6737 How many runs are penalized if a fielder puts on one of the wicket keeper's gloves? You've got 10 seconds to answer.....go!
@@AussieFossil you don't need to know all of them to watch cricket
@@EOS-j1p No, of course not. Ryan said he'd have to check up some of the rules, I just meant Good Luck, because there are so many.
Most of the front foot have to be behind the crease. No ball extra run for batter
The Leg Before Wicket LBW laws are a bit complicated.
React to usa beating pakistan
Hat-tricks (3 wickets in the balls) are about as rare as no-hitters.
i am ready to teach you everything about cricket
You see nothing biyaaatchhhhh😂😂
The last one is a no ball. His leading foot needs to be behind or just on the line, Not half a meter in front.
You have to ask 'was that deliberate?' It's hard to believe you can overstep that far accidentally.
Congrats usa beats pakistan
The weird "Throw" was not a throw; it is illegal for bowlers to throw the ball. Think about the essence of a throw; you take the ball, bend the arm At the elbow, then you rotate the body and straighten the arm as you throw to impart the force into the throw, like a baseball pitcher. That would be a 'no ball' in cricket and would be penalised. You must either start with a straight arm and keep it straight throughout the arm swing, or start with a 'bent' arm and not straighten it during the swing.
It is a taboo thing in cricket for the bowler to throw the ball, so subsequently, they do not take kindly to be described as throwing it.
There are a lot of rules, but if you can get your head around the basics, you'll be O.K. Put your chess players hat on and enjoy.
4:14 that was basically a cheating done by umpire. ball was going straight in but on ball tracking it shown it is missing wicket which was not possible because of the angle of ball it was clear out that's why the guy kohli was furious and said to stump mic that whole country the one hosting the match is playing against 11 player the team India which was under the captaincy of kohli.
American tries his best😂
Do one on Jonty Rhodes
Snuker is not a sport but snooker is.
Give me your eyes
Someone might have suggested you a better cricket video.
If USA is not understanding or enjoying cricket, then ICC should stop promoting the sport on USA.
Please donot waste your time and make them play a sport which they donot like.
Rather promote the sport in West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, Nepal where people enjoy the game.
Remember, only south Asian and other imported players cannot sustain the sport in USA.
You gotta come to a game and have someone explain it mate!
Unique sports? Cricket, the second most popular sport in the world after football.
Cricket is a good way of making friends, If America started playing Cricket, America could be friends with Pakistan.
YOU TEAM DID A BIGGEST UPSET IN WORLDCUP BEAT THE FINALIST OF THE LAST EDITION , USA WILL PLAY INDIA IN NEW YORK ON 12TH JUNE
Unfortunately, I will never understand cricket. I'm also too stupid to understand baseball. When I was in the army, I watched American soldiers play softball for three quarters of an hour and came to the conclusion that only people who grew up with it can understand it. It starts with the fact that to be enthusiastic about the sport, you need role models, which you don't find in Germany.
and you have two heads!😀
@@inalarose7875 This fact doesn't really help in this case, quite the opposite. One head says: "it's not possible, you can't understand it", and the other head believes that and confirms it: "the explanation was plausible, it can only be right". And the first head feels confirmed: "I knew it, everyone thinks that way".
It's just a stupid spiral.
cricket ball is way harder than baseball ⚾
Americans think there is no world outside of America.
Cricket is the second most popular game in the world after football (the real football not the American variety!). Hardly any American knows what it is all about.
Come out of 4 walls of US and explore the beautiful world outside of US on this earth
Virat Kohli 🐐🐐🐐
3:45 The rule he was playing by is that if you are not in contact with the ground and you return the ball into play, you're good. If one foot was on the ground, I think it would have been given as a four.
Sorry, wrong! The ball can't be caught legitimately if it's over the barrier and your foot can't go over the barrier to catch it! If the catch or stop fails and the ball hits the barrier it's 4 runs, if it hits the fence or over it it's 6 runs! If you are in the air and throw it back in you must then catch it on the field side!
@@jenniferharrison8915 My point was, if he's airborne and slaps the ball back onto the field, he's good. No four runs. But if he's touching ground and grabs the ball out of field, it's four runs.
@@BradGryphonn Yes that's right and it is complicated unless you see it live! More fielders are trying those athletic moves now!
USA defeated Pakistan in world cup you should see that :)
Seriously cricket is more interesting then baseball
It's not throw its a ball where elbow should not be folded its should be straight
A lot of your countrymen have reacted to this recently, if it would help your understanding. Particularly during the cricket world cup and in the lead up to Major League Cricket launching in the US: ruclips.net/video/EWpbtLIxYBk/видео.html
