Firstly this was race has never been a festival race. Secondly, the festival first went to C4 in 95 or 96. Back then BBC was better coverage but since Peter O, Julian Wilson left it slowly went down hill. Its actually a good thing that BBC has lost racing altogether. Channel 4 do a really good job now. Only annoying bits are the adverts and Derek Thompson the annoying buffoon.
yes the 94 race was the last time it was shown on the BBC. and the cheltenham contract was the second in what became many sports contracts the BBC lost and are still losing to this day. the first being the ryder cup. we should all be grateful the corporation love womens football though
