Always love the content on this channel. Definitely keep this series going on the WiFi Coconut and as soon as they're not backordered anymore, I'm going to try and get my hands on one! Keep up the great work!
I just watched the MIT Portafolio video and the short LORE in it, the fact that this channel is doing pretty well really gives me a light of hope for the world, keep it up bro, greetings from Mexico!!!
anything in the making for the 5GHz? no one really uses 2.4 anymore. seems like all the recon tools aren't released til theyre not as useful. a best kept secret tool til everyone knows then ya might as well sell it
Do you understand 802.11 k/v and r. 2.4ghz is still very much used in enterprise networking based on how far you are from the A/P as well as congestion. I understand where you are coming from as that you are missing a huge part of the spectrum but 2.4ghz is still just as relevant today as 5ghz. Also a lot of home network a/p will use 802.11 k/v as well. You just don’t notice. Home access points will call it band steering.
@@Braddeman Not really, it's being phased out quite quickly and most enterprises are completely disabling the 2.4GHz radio entirely. There's really no point to use it anymore unless they have 2.4GHz only clients, which are mostly just handheld scanners at this point so outside of warehouses, you're not going to be seeing much 2.4GHz. Also, Band Steering is different than 802.11k/v/r as it's works by simply suppressing probe responses on 2.4GHz if it sees client probe request on 5GHz and is also typically a feature on enterprise APs as nothing is required on the client device for that.
@@currentlypooping Literally every IoT device in existence is 2.4Ghz... It's pretty frustrating that that is the case, but it is. That's more the in home space but we know people bring things to work and things not designed for work end up in small business or places not considered "enterprise". Not every place even has IT staff and it is cobbled together.
@@currentlypooping that’s not true. There are several factors when passing off to the 2.4 ghz spectrum on a dual band device such mainly rssi as well as network congestion on the 5ghz band. 2.4ghz has better penetration power and 5ghz has the ability to carry larger amounts of data over short distances. There becomes a point where 2.4 ghz outperforms 5ghz and that is when it is handed off. I can watch real time on my Cisco controller such handoffs between A/P as well as the different bands.
It would be a neat project to create a visualization experience... i wonder if it would be difficult to write some kind of software that would kind of mid-line process things maybe make the data indexable, display it in something like a video game or vr setup with little avatars doing things based on types of packets or data. Maybe some "ai" to assist with parsing. If I had a bunch of time to do this that'd be so cool

I wonder if anyone has damaged their Coconut trying to make it transmit? 😂 Nice video @Alex! Keep up the great work.
Hak5 hasn't did a video on the wifi enterprise.....geez I wonder why?
cause everyone in the know has gotten smart and trying to go full wired Lan as possible
Hi Hak5. Is there a way to boot linux using usb key with ipad. But with out making changes to ipad.
I’ve been having trouble converting the coconuts pcap files to a format that will work with airgraph-ng. Any idea how to go about doing that?

How can i make it?
that could easily be done on a regular realtek Wifi Interface and Airodump-ng so whats the Diffrence?
