Good job Bob, your use of sound is well done and the dramatic and entertaining tone is intriguing. You have included great historical shots and putting them next to contemporary views is a good choice too. It makes the history live and reminds us that there is heritage all around us. Congratulations on including Cindy Larson in the way you did. Crediting the photos and music was a fine idea. Your sense of timing is good. I look forward to your next versions. I put together a couple of documentaries on this area about twenty years ago and am familiar with how much time and effort that you and your wife must have put into this. "I like you too much not to say it" (that line is from Zorba The Greek, 1964 , starring Anthony Quinn) There is no apostrophe in it's used as you have used it twice.:)
Thanks, Mike, for your comments!! Are You the former teacher from Muskegon Senior High School?!?! If not, are you related? Or do I have the wrong name?
Awesome video! I didn't know some of the thinhs talked about in this video before, so definitely very informative. And gosh, I believe Musekgon is a very nice arra in Michigan, with very welcoming people.
I lived in Muskegon for 7 years before moving back to my hometown and I miss it every day I haven't been back in 4 years :( but it's wear my heart lays.
..my Brother would say; "what you got planned for tonight?", I would respond with; "not much", of which he would reply with; "let's go watch the fights"...in reference to the Muskegon Mohawks.
You've got a voice that's really easy to listen to, I'll bet you could make a living doing audiobooks or something similar. Anyway cool video; I'll be going on a camping trip to muskegon pretty soon, is there anything specific you recommend doing while I'm there?
Up there right across from the frauenthal, in front of third street grill, i saw a massive fight with a bunch of people involved, all because a drunk man hit a young girl with his bicycle. this was like early june 2017.
I'm working on it currently, though I'm just into the beginning of the editing process. It's going to be a bit different than Part One - I have a Trilogy in mind for the series - I can't predict a finish date, as this is strictly a hobby, and my full time job keeps me very busy. I want to do it as good as I am capable, so hopefully sometime before Summer 2018 I'll be ready to post. I Love Muskegon, and am rooting for a (continued) big comeback!!!
It can't be defended that hackly destroyed irrevocably the eco systems of the lower peninsula. No amount of tax deductible donations will absolve him. he is and was a monster. Just a few years earlier.... this country was stolen from the area's indigenous for pennies on the hundred dollar. For that hackly and others await their long deserved sentence in hell. say hi to beezlebub.
Ive no idea what you’re talking about. But this videos creepy af lol. We toured the hackley and Hume home. He had a statue of Satan even. It was very creepy. Like a cathedral.
Love the retrospective pics... awesome stuff Bob!

Muskegon is my hometown. This is an interesting documentary. I’ll watch this when I get homesick 😊
Thank You!! Where are you located now, Ginger?

I am looking forward to this journey.
And now to see the big lake sunset - pay per view
Thank you! Great job on the video.
I enjoyed this film very much (the lady sitting on Charles Hackley, not so much, better if she sat beside him). Thanks for sharing!!
Yeah, I thought that was a little odd, too. Cringed a little.

Verry verry verry nice film

Western shores not eastern
Eastern shores of Lake Michigan, Western Shores would be on the Wisconsin side, get it?
