      He goes by Robby. That’s what everyone called him when I took his New Orleans Architecture class at Tulane.

    my Louisiana history teacher used to do a "freaky Friday" every week. Turns out the Ursuline Convent is the only building that hasn't burned down, been destroyed, or reconstructed in the entire history of the French Quarter. more than a little freaky if you ask me...

    • @AlextheHistorian
      @AlextheHistorian 10 месяцев назад +7

      In a way that's sort of true. The original Ursuline convent was located just a block or two north of the St. Louis Cathedral, but it rotted in the weather. So the convent we see today was built in this alternate location. So technically, this building hasn't been burned down or destroyed or reconstructed, but it is in fact a replacement for one that was.

    After watching entire video, Lalaurie sure wins the most creepy and most horrifying tale prize. Rest seems like usual "standard" violence or invented tales for entertainment purposes. Interesting that the original Lalaurie house was demolished back in the days already. I guess it was reminding people too much of certain things so they demolished the building rebuilt after fire because they could not stand to see the "monument" of what happened there. This story is really strong, no wonder it ended up in American horror stories series and probably being the most realistic and the most creepy one ever made.

    Lalaurie was obviously a major psycho...I watched American horror series and you confirming those events made the matter even more creepy. Awesome video. Beautiful architecture. But horror that happened there makes you tingle.
