Thank you!!! Now I finally get it. I’ve been trying to pop into the crook but this totally makes sense .

Favorite trick right now, but took me a minute to get these because there's so few tutorials out there. I was literally trying to nollie into crook from the noseslide, but really what you need to do is slightly dip the tail, then do more of a carving motion into crook. Like when you do a slappy crook, you'll carve with more of a backside motion than the frontside movement when ollieing into crooks - at least for me. It can be hard to learn, especially if your trucks are still new because the groove you get from these also makes it easier - might sound odd, but I've found waxing the front of a new pair of trucks, right down to the pivot, also helps because when you get these, you'll see noseslide crooks wear down your trucks all the way down to there. Great stuff dude!
thanks for this comment im sure it will help so many ppl. This trick took me 3 years to learn this good
@@segatronmedia Another thing is wheel shape does matter. I got a new set of wheels and was struggling with both slappy crooks and this one, while I had it every try on my other setup. Turns out not all wheels are the same nor symmetrical, so if like most people you have the graphic on the inside, the wheel might have a steeper transition from flat to the side of the wheel, making it harder to pop that wheel up. I'd actually bought another set of wheels before I noticed the slight difference, then put the wheels on graphic out and was locking in every try again.
45 and just started, six months in. Can you show a video , showing the foot placement, and also the Angle of approach? From a top angle
