- Economist Klaus Schwab is the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum which will be holding it's Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland January 22-25, 2019. Schwab explains the theme of this year's meeting, "Globalization 4.0: Shaping a New Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” When asked if we were currently in a trend of de-globalization he said no, "we have to make a differentiation between globalization, which is a fact, and globalism." He says the biggest threat to economic stability is the imbalances in the world. Schwab says he believes trade imbalances are a problem. He is not an unconditional advocate for free trade, which he says is great but only if there is equality.

retraining workers for a modern economy doesnt fix inequality. as long as the rate of return on investment capital is greater than the overall economic growth, inequality will rise, and returns on capital are only showing signs of increasing, and growth rates have stalled, meaning the problem is accelerating.

I think biggest treat is 'stakes' . Not because bribes are not part of business, but because stakes make bribes legal. So the inequality mentioned increases and in a way becomes more transparent to the public. I think that will lead to the rise of far right, far left movements that may also lead to civil wars. So the treat is that there would be a sort of loss of political control if people start getting violent out of frustration linked to inequality. Couple stakes with housing crisis and pandemic and recession, I think it resembles conditions for previous world wars except that tech might raise quality of intelligence and living. I think DNA engineered Pandemics virus is also a potential treat. Asteroid impact and famine is a treat that needs vertical farming to prevent linked to a follow up ice age. I think for trade we need middle men, right now there is too much direct sales coming from China so in a way middle men are stakes. Quality of product also goes way down if middle men are excluded because it's so hard to have cross border laws to prevent people selling substandard products like some of the rubbish I bought online from China. I think also education needs to improve and not be restricted or extremists can take advantage to manipulate so I would like to see a return to free expression in movies. Movies have become about nothing lately. Finally the concept of spoiling current systems to force change should stop because it is just a bad approach that leads to evil in the world, I prefer to find ways to increase quality. It's easy to spoil, it's hard to build.

@@Leila2023_ It's not that, some groups try to get the poor to attack the wealthy so foreign corporations can asset strip native people with money so that they are the only remaining wealthy group. Then they will try to take all the homes with taxes, to transition everyone in a region to poor. Then they rent you a small overpriced bedroom. Stakes are a risk because they can encourage leaders to not protect home ownership and instead taking the stake. I still trust home ownership more, especially after seeing the crypto market lose value during fiat inflation, stakes are never secure. It would be that they would next just try to take the stakes after they take the homes
