- Good discussion from the MTS series on the operation of Holley carbs. Carb in question is a 4-barrel, circa 1960. They havent changed a whole lot since then, so its still mostly applicable to Holleys today.
I just want to thank these guys for posting this.I own an 1984 ford camper and couldn't find the rite video and or info to rebuild my own which is the same one.So Thanks Guys!!
Love these old training recordings. I have been the go to carb guy for years with my friends. I learned how they worked, how to tune and rebuild from old text books back in the 80s. A video like this would have saved hours of reading.
Thanks for sharing
And dont forget to drill those 2 small holes in the primary butterflies for the correct transfer slot adjustment.
No need because these carbs have that screw under the air cleaner stud!
I thought Barry Grant invented that "idle ease"
@@jakefriesenjake will my new 4160 have this air speed screw like this?
@@blakenorman4822 no idea. What is the exact part number? Is it a Holley?
is there a website to find more of these types of videos
Golly gee willikers Chad, I didn't know nuthin' about them Holleys, thanks for the tip!
I wish that they would have designed 2 needles per corner. 1 for the idle mix and another for the overall idle/off idle mix, instead of having a fixed 'ifr' or 'idle feed restrictor'. This way you can tune the amount of fuel available for the transition slots.
Would
The Mechanics -Technitions were called Grease Monkeys in those days. I suppose Chrysler though they had limited intelligence also,so they made a training film like this. Good for 6 year olds.
DID they EVER fix the idle fuel needles from NOT drifting?
Very cool!!!
So much shit to remember haha
The air idle screw down the centre of the carb ??
I don’t think a lot of carbs came with that feature, I have a 4 barrel boat carb 1989 doesn’t have that feature. And from a lot of forums and other Holley videos they never mentioned this
I thought Barry Grant invented that. "idle ease"
good

Is this turbo encabulator guy?
