I've got my first interview tomorrow and your videos have been waay more useful than any paid resources could've been. You are doing amazing work by making these videos and I truly appreciate the effort you make.
Binge watched all your interview videos and I am so grateful for your existence, you’ve really helped me feel more confident and prepared for my interviews ❤️
@@keeweeow624 It was alright, thanks! It was at Cardiff so it was split over a verbal and written section. The Verbal part was pretty good, but the written part was a bit dire lol. We'll see :)
@@christinetse9468 I have my Cardiff interview on the 3rd! I Hope you did well :) I Have a friend in 1st year, he said he messed up on the written section but he got in so don't worry too much about it!
Thank you so much, this was the video I was waiting for !! Your videos have given me the most comprehensive and detailed guide ace on all these important topics which has been immensely helpful. :) Hopefully I’ll get a question like that in my interview next week!
I've been to hospitals many times for severe asthma, and I've never waited in a waiting room for more than 5 minutes. One time they started checking my O2 in the waiting room itself, which was very good because my O2 was in the mid 80s(anything less than 94 is not good).
Hey Ollie, great video! please would you be able to do a video on the NHS constitution/NHS values and how they apply in a medical interview (Southampton focus on these core values)
Depends who it is making the decision and in what context. If you're the consultant in charge of the emergency department overnight, it's your call ultimately, although they will have been through a specifically trained triage nurse on entry to ED. There are also national evidence based guidelines on triage in particular conditions (ie 2 week waits for suspected cancer etc.). So to play the interviewer in this scenario, how many people would you like? If say 2 is better than 1, why not 5? 10? Where is your line for what you'd consider good practice?
There is no need to be sorry. The videos you have made over the past few years are amazing.

Great suggestion!
I'm applying to Southampton and I've noticed this too.
So far it's the only uni that hasn't given me an interview yet.
thank you so much for your helpful advices! I also love the background images on your computer!!
Hey
I wanted to ask you if you had a white coat ceremony at your university?
Hey! I know a lot of US medical schools do this, but doctors don't wear white coats in the UK - so no is the simple answer :)
How does this changed in the time of covid, we hear allot about younger patients being prioritised to be treated?
Surely having one person make an ultimate decision whether a patient is serious enough or not is poor practice?

Are you allowed to wear an undershirt, from an infection control point of view? Or does it have to be sleeveless?
Yeah undershirts absolutely allowed and extremely common - as long as you're bare below the elbows it doesn't matter
I feel as if I've seen you somewhere before?
