And when u call them IF you get to the holding part you wait and then their automated system hangs up on you. Wife waited 3 hrs on hold then it said plz call later and hung up. But yet they hired 30k auditors instead of phone reps.
I went through that for 5 weeks, calling at different times automated telling me the lines are too busy to call at next business day, and only once I was able to get on queue for an hour and half then the line hung up on me telling me they're closed now. Although, I did finally get through about 3 weeks ago and went through 3 different tier agents and none were able to tell me if they got my envelope or not, they ran a compliance check to see if there's anything flagged on my account but it was all clear, yet all they could tell me to wait. Luckily, I did get my refund on july 15th and Imagine my shock and surprise. Honestly, at this point I have huge anxiety for next year, I highly doubt they will get things done right, The whole system is so messed up. (Just for reference: I had mailed my paper return on Feb 9th and I got my refund on July 15th)
Its been 6month and certified mail my tax turn. I got a advocate but when I call to see if any progress was made. I was told that I did not have a case. I was diagnosed with cancer and some of cost isn't cover under my insurance.. due to the water contamination on the military base. I have several medical conditions the I have to been seen by specialists. This is crazy the irs should have a back up plan. Their are millions of people waiting who need their money for their kids going back to. I dont think anyone is working on anything. Their still take money out of our checks. If this was the other way around and 11 million people owe taxes. The irs would come after our home , paychecks even jail time. All of our rights have been strip. This doesn't make any since. They are saying we made not even get our refund this year. What about all the taxpayers information being put in the trash . I think my tax forms are in the trash. Our president doesn't care about the American Citizen that put him in office. He is the commanding chief.. wake up and take care of taxpayers.
The IRS is quick to take your money but to pay out the employees just do nothing and make excuses to stay home. We need to fire the old and hire new employees. All the IRS and government does it take and when its time to give back they blame covid or make other excuses. I sent my taxes off in March, I'm still waiting for a refund

@@deenanthekemoni5567 the next time I fill out a W-2, there's an option to check called exempt. They will take $0 from me. Anyone that makes under $52,000 isn't even required to pay taxes and is lied to by the IRS.
Filed 2021 taxes electronically w local tax preparer February 2022 gotten 3 60 day letters “still reviewing “longer than normal delay time” is all I’ve gotten. Very vague because the IRS is incompetent millions are still waiting they have lost returns and nobody cares. Abolish them already!!!!
Same situation here but I'm in Texas, i actually managed to talk with someone over at the IRS and was told i need to re-identify my kid's but CAN'T do it without a letter that needed to be APPROVED first that was in March but I'm wondering if me filing a FRAUD report in early January is the reason why. Generally my tax filing has been okay, until they changed the rules on unemployment in 2020. I filed electronically before the change. So I have been doing as they said not filing an amended return since they said it could delay it and they will fix it..... well they hadn't. So I will send in an amended paper return and see what happens. Heck what's another year - onto the already over a year wait.

Tax advocate will call you back. Many people says it’s tax advocate is good but I haven’t gotten a refund yet.
