Living in a sick house, up at 3am putting a wash on! Knew I had to get out for a walk in the park. Am determined to get all the way around a certain fenced field. I got halfway around and turned back towards my car. Technically I did the whole circuit but .... I will get there. Know I'm walking too fast too.
When the fear rose I said to myself, a quote I'd read yesterday. "Fear isnt real, it's a thought in your head". Really helped me go forward.
The pause button needs to be pressed more

The missing piece for me was learning that I can still have symptoms and enjoy myself in my activities. I used to get so upset at myself that my symptoms would go up or be present when I do things but now that I know it’s only TMS I don’t get mad at them, I know sometimes they flare up when I have more to do but I am still safe and I can still enjoy myself with or without symptoms. My mindset about symptoms has changed and I no longer fear them so heavily and therefore I can still have more fun

My symptoms are slowly going away as I break free from all the lies I believed about myself and feel the painful feelings that had been locked away in my heart. As I let go of this old mindset and reprogram myself with new information. Thank you Dan for sharing all this wonderful knowledge about PDP to help us break free from all this old conditioning that we were taught to believe. I am grateful for every little improvement that I have. I know I need to laugh more and enjoy each moment of the day. Instead of having a whinging heart, complaining about everything that I am not happy about in my life. By truly seeing what is in my heart and acknowledging that I am miserable in my heart about my situation is not helping me improve. So as they say turning over a new leaf and starting each new day looking for something to be grateful for. No matter how small. Thanks again for you video's they are so helpful in gaining understanding in my heart.

It is amazing how often we need to hear this message. When we have symptoms, we need to say, "This is TMS, that's all. I am safe" So simple but it works and it will end the pain eventually.

21 year old student here. I’ve felt plagued by an inner sense of restlessness and discomfort for the majority of my life so far. It almost makes you feel alien, like you can’t engage with the world in the same way as everyone else. Just an awful sense that you’re doing life wrong. I’ve recently made more of an effort to consciously focus on being present, and naturally my nerves have started to chill out. These conscious choices to be intentional with your focus make all the difference. Really appreciate you bringing light to this stuff.

One last thought: I think that identifying the origins of these painful neural pathways can be extremely therapeutic. With time, you can identify that they were built on a foundation of fear, and then choose to let them fade away. The human mind is amazing! Cheers!

I joined the pain free group two days ago and I'm looking forward to interacting and having your support. I did whole lot of normal things yesterday, I walked about 300 metres, I watched TV, I did little gardening, I watched all the episodes in the introduction, I printed out the emotional responses, I made three meals by the end of the day had a massive flare up so today the sensations are in full arousal. I'm not afraid what's going on in my body but it's exhausting. I obviously did too much. 🙏

I hope we can find connection with each other over our symptoms and go through them together in peace. It's the anger we carry that hurts us.

I'm the same, lifelong, and it had gotten increasingly worse as my condition got worse. I was so confused how to stop or change something that kicks in before my conscious thoughts are even online, the adrenalin spigot starts flowing before I open my eyes. Last year I started applying Dan's tools to this too and it helped a lot. "Oh hey good morning anxiety and adrenalin, I see you. We're fine, we're safe, there's no danger here. You're welcome to hang out with me but you're in the back seat... I'm driving today. There's a nice cozy little space if you want to stick around" (and I've mentally created a cozy corner in my head with pillows and everything). All the years of fighting to stop it, to resist it, to make it go away never worked and only made it worse. Treating it as just another sensation has helped tremendously - I can't stop it but I can change my relationship to it. It's back at high volume now after recent high stress, trauma and fear (I live on Maui and all my sensations are off the charts since the fires,), so it's a reminder that my main focus is to establish a sense of safety. Which feels overwhelming right now but will come with time, I've done it in the past. So like Dan says here re: pain, just acknowledge it and move on.

I’d be lifting weights and doing hiit but I’m afraid as my heart rate been a bit fast. They checked my heart in May and it was fine but took ages to get the results. I’m coming off the beta blocker but highly sensitive so my nervous system likes to kick me into overdrive. I haven’t done any exercise more than walking since 2021 before Covid

Thx Dan. I have a question about this topic. It has been up and down for the past 3 years. I work 'just' as well as 'just' exercise. I have always done everything in a very intense way. If I have had a tough day at work and then do a heavy strength training session, I get into a freeze. Could it be that doing things too intensely, without rest and lots of layers, also puts pressure on my system? I find this very confusing. I continue to do everything, normal activities, etc., but my feeling tells me that the intensity should be less. Is it true that the way you do the activities is also important? the intensity? it feels like a struggle instead of effortless. Greetings Thomas.

    • @neva.2764
      @neva.2764 7 месяцев назад +1

If you get into a freeze then I think the answer is clear. Why don't you trust yourself/your body when it tells you that you're overdoing it?

@@neva.2764 good question. I think because thats exactly my problem. Lost the sense of feeling. Lost the sense of a border. And: think that its only in the brain, the pressure.

I see. Did you hear about muscle testing/applied kinesiology? There are 7 or more different ways to muscle test yourself. It's a great and accurate way to ask questions to your body.
People with food allergies use it when they go grocery shopping. They ask their body through muscle testing whether a particular food is good for them or not. It's a great and reliable way to figure out what's ok for your body. It knows what it needs and it will tell you if you ask it the right questions.

    • @IridescentJen

Another program I'm in emphasizes "consistency over intensity". It's this intensity that many of us share in common who end up with these syndromes of pain/cfs/etc. I never realized until now (in my early 50's) how damn intense I am... when i started asking friends and family they all laughed and said um YEAH, you didn't know that? So now when I catch myself in intense hyperfocus, either physical or mental, my goal is to back it down into an easy, enjoyable and peaceful state.

    • @thomasijspeert1162

@@IridescentJen I think you are spot on with this. I recognice myself in it. In my 20's i loved to put a lot of drive in everything. Mostly in sport. And came away with it. Now it feels dissapointed that it won't work anymore. Self love and kind approach will be the solution i think...
