    Thank You, Andrew, for taking the time to produce this Video, and also for supporting British Produce. You would think after all these years, the issue with the Union Jack would have been sorted out , it just should,nt be allowed to put that on Non home produced products!

    Just a thought, do you think silver spoon are missing a trick , the union jack is on the top of the bag, fairly hard to see when its on the supermarket shelf, the tate and lyle bag has it on the front where it can be seen easily, when people are shopping and see this, more easily it's easy to see why they think it's local, Has silver spoon got the package wrong and need a re design to promot the british product better,

  • @carlgray968
    @carlgray968 Год назад

    When I did sugar beet we used tramlines and I worked out that the four rows around the two missing tramline rows were a little bit heavier about a quarter more in weight so you only lost the equivalent to one row I use to lift ours with a single row tanker I could get across and back on normal rows for a tank full but if I took a normal row and a tramline row I could only get 3/4 of the way back

    Love seeing the sugar beet, as it's so amazing the volume of crop you harvest from the field. I'm growing wheat and oats this year on my allotment and would love to grow some sugar beet as a trial. Do you know much about the process of getting sugar from the beet, and do you think this would be possible to achieve at home? Also, where might be the best place to get a small handful of seed? Might I be able to purchase a very small amount from yourself? :)

    how many acres of beets does the typical farmer raise in your area? is it common to have contractors plant and harvest? where I raise beets in the US average is 500 acres of beets and nobody contracts planting or harvest

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  Год назад

      It varies. We all have a certain number of tons on contract to British sugar. There’s a huge variation in yields so 2 farmers having the same tons contract will have different number of acres to grow those tons. We have a 4600 ton contract and try to fill that with only 140 acres.
