  • You're taking Amtrak from San Francisco, where no Amtrak trains run. So where do you pick up the Thruway Bus? Riding BART Blue Line inbound from 16th Street Mission Station, Meghan & I peruse Salesforce Transit Center & decode the newly relocated Amtrak Thruway Bus stop in San Francisco. A dreary pre-dawn bus ride then ensues & we're ready to await the Coast Starlight train 11 southbound to San Luis Obispo.

It’s absolutely insane that it doesn’t stop in the Salesforce Transit Center

Yeah, it qualifies as part of commuter service, so it would be appropriate to the type.

Great video, thanks for posting! Glad it worked out for you. I too wondered where the bus stop was. Because I took the Zephyr back home I just took BART to Richmond and connected there, I was afraid of the tight connection if I took the bus. I don't think the Starlight stops at Richmond so your way is the way to go in that situation.

I believe that is correct about Richmond, yes. Thanks!

I had a shuttle bus which left me in the middle of a regular bus stop . I had to google to find what bus to take to hotel. By the way, SF bus doesn't accept credit card only cash or their transit app. $1.50 for seniors/disabled or $3.00 regular fare.

True indeed. I try to use day passes on systems for whole days in which I'm staying in metro areas. The most advantageous systems allow for a full 24-hour period per day pass (CTA Chicago) rather than to the end of a "service day" (Twin Cities).
