so glad you're doing this! DRUCK is one of my favourite SKAM remakes. along with the youngest pair of actors (actual teens) playing the central roles in season 3, a real (and in my opinion successful) effort seems to have been made to break the mould. it initially struck me as slow and low energy, but as the season progressed i realized that this was a deliberate choice and really set the mood needed to get viewers into Matteo's state of mind. highly recommended to any SKAM fan who can shake their preconceived notions and come at it with an open mind free free of rigid expectations 👍👍
For me nothing beats the OG, but to me this remake has a similar feel to it, more than any of the others, while still telling a very different story overall. There are absolutely points that you will recognize from the original, but this version often puts its own spin on them. I think one of the reasons it is successful is that it hits enough iconic moments to remind you of the OG while absolutely going its own way.
Interesting, I thought it lacked all the feeling of similarity, like I felt not even half of the chemistry between characters as I felt in the OG. I was so sad, because I felt like I had to force myself to watch instead of enjoying it.🥲
@@siffe3336 Well, this shows how different people can respond differently to the same material. What I mean by the similar feel is that there is the sense of reality, almost as though we’re seeing a documentary rather than a work of fiction (yes, I know it’s fiction, but it’s much more naturalistic than most of the other remakes, in the same way the OG feels naturalistic). And yes, Matteo and David have what turns out to be a different kind of relationship than Isak and Even do (I don’t want to say more than that because of spoilers), but I think they’re no less devoted to each other.
Nobody comes between my love for Evak, although all the other couples in various remakes are very lovable, too, but let's face it, Isak and Even stole my heart and I haven't got it back.🥰
I personally like the og the most because I watched it when it came out and I think it was the first time I saw a guy×guy love story. But out of the remakes I love season 3 of druck the most because the plot is different from the og which made me feel more attached to the characters
Ya, E1 is all about set up. Druck S3 deviates the most from SKAM OG I'd say (I've not watch SKAM espana which has the central character as women, but I think the story is similar) Druck does some great call backs to SKAM OG you will see, but also creates its own world. I loved how much more emotive Matteo's scene was when he first sees David, time slowing as they both took each other in (gay stare), when he's with Sara its just "meh" at best, hes doing what he thinks hes suppose to right. The end you can see Matteo is pulled to David, hes much more engaged and trying to engage with him (look at the posture, Matteo is turned to david the entire scene), When Sara shows up, his whole body and demeanor changes, hes upset at David leaving, he's apathetic with Sara. I really find Michelangelo (Matteo) an expressive actor, he just gets more engaging as the season goes on. Some context; When Matteo and Jonas are in the bed the morning after the party, this is hangover story from S2 (I think) where Matteo has a crush or feels like he's into Jonas, hence the longing hair play. I think it was the same in SKAM OG so it's not really a spoiler.
I'm so happy you are doing Druck. Even through Skam season 4 is my favorite Skamverse season, Druck is my favorite overall. My favorite character overall would probably be Kiki, which you already met in this episode (although she doesn't stand out very much in this season), with Sascha (Druck season 7) being a close second place and Lucas (Skam NL) at third place. I hope you will enjoy this season as much as Skam season 3. I see, why some people find it hard to get a feel for Matteo and the other characters at first, because Matteo is not as outgoing as Isak, which changes a few things and the overall atmosphere. But all of that was very well set up in the previous seasons as well as some different plot points, like Matteo having a girlfriend (he and Sara started making out in season 2), Carlos already being with Kiki since season 2 (they are Magnus and Vilde) or the dynamic of the boysquad (which was already introduced in season 1, not in season 3, like in Skam)
I agree what you said here. Matteo is not that outgoing and that’s why it feels different. We can’t forget that Druck uses same approach as Skam OG. That actors bring a lot of themselves into their characters. So it’s logical that Matteo does and feels and reacts to some things a bit differently than Isak did. But I promise it picks up and gets really good. And Matteos actor is really good.
the og is my favorite, but this is a close second! i watched this third when i went through all the remakes (of season 3s) and it just felt different, but still not? while all the remakes were good and i loved them, both skam france and wtfock felt very similar to the og (though still had it's on twist to it) and you kinda knew how the whole thing would play out a lot more compared to this. while druck still did that somewhat, they changed it up (by combining isak and even into both matteo and david for example), which made this a little bit more exiting to watch. like, i was watching this and kinda expected it to go in on direction and then they just threw you off and did something different. also, matteo is a whole mood and is probably my favorite character, though isak and even is my favorite couple. and btw, i reccomend watching the first episode of season 4 of this as well, as the focus is still somewhat on matteo and david in that before switching over to the next character, instead of doing it at the end of season 3.
The beer they're drinking is water in used beer bottles. Marlon (Jonas) said it tasted terrible. It's also Marlon's bathroom and bathtub, he said he had to clean it out before shooting. And Isak's bedroom is Marlon's real bedroom.
Hey Courtney. You should check out the Thai series Cutie Pie it is really fun. It is a gay romance but with a lot of comedy included. I understand it is on a website somewhere, but I have been watching it on a RUclips channel named Mandee. There are 3 episodes there now. They divide each one into 4 segments and each is its own YT video.
It is a matter of taste. I like WTFock and Scam France, too. But Druck is something special to me. The actors of David and Matteo are very good and I love the plot twist. And it was the first one I watched in 'real time' that made it very intense.
If you type in watch druck online it should come up there's a website that has pretty much all the series from the original SKAM to all the other remakes.
nothing will best the original for me but i adore this remake cause it has the same core values, sorta thing but also has enough of a different storyline to feel new
What does "O.G." mean? I'm still not into this - liked the Norwegian version better, but will continue with you for at least a couple more episodes. :-)
@@Courtney-Jai Oh, this younger generation(s) - what will you come up with next! I kind of figured out O might be original but I never would have guessed the G, lol.

Yeah same, for me it was to the point where I had to actively force myself to watch DRUCK season 3 and then I just stopped cause I felt 0 chemistry or conecction. I think I had too much hope for it since I heard so much good about it, but I'm really sad because I wanted to like DRUCK.

@@Courtney-Jai great suggestions mentioned! And subtitles can suck for about 5 minutes. But after 10 minutes you don’t even notice them, seriously. Give Skam a shot if you’re into this kind of content because it’s so worth it after the first 10 awkward minutes!

The original actors were 'actual teens' too. What are you talking about? The actor playing Isak was 16 at the time. The actor playing Even was 19...

I feel like DRUCK isn't better, it just is different with Matteo being kind of both OG characters(Even and Isak)
The way I see it it's just another universe kinda keeps it within what Isak and Even talk about
