Love this. My family got into gardening as a part of our connection to Allah, and discovered permaculture. It's so hard to find Muslims talking about ecology and our role in preserving and restoring the land and all of Allah's creation. Thank you for this.
When he said "Living soil" I remembered the saying of prophet Muhammed PBUH : "whoever brings life to a dead land then the land is his! " "من أحيا أرضاً ميتاً فهي له " Traditionally this saying of our prophet is understood as farming a dead land or establishing living environment for humans, animals and plants, But the new meaning of "living soil" is a very interesting connection between humans and land.
Even further, health science is only now discovering the role "living gut ecology" (microorganisms living symbiotically within us) has in keeping us healthy and even thinking straight. There's certain substances we need for stable mood for example, that can only be produced internally by symbiotic microorganisms. There's living soil inside us too! Subhana Allah.
I've been looking at this school for such a long time now and I wish I could have the chance to go to it, I don't think its written for me but I just imagine what it would be like to learn from such intelligent Muslim teachers such as him. May Allah bless this school and the courses it teaches, the students the teachers the scholars and everyone behind this school ameen
Slm, sister, my heart wishes the same thing. Alhumdulah. I had a chance for a little while to study at Zaytuna for a few years while it was an institute. May Almighty make us all proper stewards.
Permaculture changed my life. Theres more to it than one can imagine... too long to expound here. I just went for a weekend course. It is necessary and possible even for a child. It reminds us of our Islamic value of giving the Earth back its rights literally speaking. SubhanAllah. There is No need to buy greens from a supermarket ever. Grow your own tomatoes, cuc9and eggplants....it is SO Satisfying Ya ALLAH Shukr.
Dr Omar Faruq Abdullah is a Gem and should give more talks on a bigger scale In the international forum like Davos, the World Economic Forum with established Christian scholars. I hope Dr Abdullah will publish his knowledge to guide future generations. Current generations do not have any connections with the social history and knowledge, pretty much content with the electronic toys like mobile…. Let’s be it…be the Stuart…..may your Permaculture initiative show the lights to others.
@@husnas.7772 I try to watch nearly everything related to those topics I have mentioned above hahaha But it is just so inspiring to listen about these topics from Islamic domain and Islamic Scholars that's why I've asked for more of these contents from Zaytuna college and our Islamic Scholars .
This contains so many gems worth pondering deeply. It's a blessing that Zaytuna has taken it upon themselves to be vehicles for change, and invite anyone to join for a two week training in Permaculture: zaytuna.edu/extendedlearning/permaculture-design-certificate
Slm. What sound advice. In South Africa Agriculture was dominated by Whites. People of colour their farm lands were expropriated. Alhamdulillah we never gave up. Our home in its limited space we in our 70s advocate Permaculture. Our grandchild r growing up in this environ. Neighbours, friends ,anyone who is hungry gets a share of fruit and vegs. The birds migrate feed and breed here. With water restrictions we ensured borehole supply. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Aalameen.. Jzk for the encouragement.
Coming from the Himalayan mountains I remember what my mother used to say that if you don't produce from agricultural land the land is going to curse you 🤬
