He said KRS was mentally ill and totally off. When he was told me this, he wasn´t amped. He was sad and hurt about it and that is all he said. Khris still has more styles than any other MC. .Animated, restrained, intense, humorous, fast, slow, skat, stutter step, ragamuffin, sing songy, spoken word and conversational. No one switches between these as effortlessly as KRS.
I think JID is young and keeps the spirit of innovation. I am old head for sure and so happy to hear KRS still bringing it. DOOM was my all time fav, when he passed it hit hard.... Besides these giants we grew up to, I try to find young cats keeping the spirit of hip hop alive. I say JID is one because he can rock any beat whether it be a hihat_sprinkler/808 or some ol boom bat or some funky track like Waterboyz.

KRS One, I'll admit, isn't someone I'm a huge fan of. I like some of his 90's stuff, but I usually don't care for his flow all that much. By the way, I'm not super familiar with hip hop in 2023. I kind of just listen to the artists I already like. I've become boring in that way. I do sometimes hear newer music played when I'm somewhere out, so I'll pull out my phone and have it find the artist for me. Iike some of the sounds! One time, I was on my way home and a song was playing from somewhere. It was a British rapper called Skepta. Pretty cool music! Another time, I was volunteering as a bartender, and I think it was Offset that was playing. I'm not negative on new hip hop music at all.
