I never thought I would live to see Hollywood FINALLY figuring out how to do a Mario movie but here we are.
And I for one, as someone who has played these games since I was little, cannot wait for the inevitable spin offs for this movie.
Nintendo and Illumination worked hand in hand to make this movie right. That's what makes the difference between the other video game adaptations.

Turns out, the secret is just to get their creators involved in the adaptation process.
The callbacks are part of any adaptation of a classic but I feel like that’s ALL this movie is.

The donkey Kong part was my favorite, also I like how they wrote peach making her strong and tough instead of getting kidnapped, the luma was crazy as well.

Jack Black's casting as Bowser is one of my favorites in a movie inspired by a video game franchise. Right up there with Ryan Reynolds as Detective Pikachu and Ben Schwartz as Sonic The Hedgehog.

That star moment had EVERY gamer I know hum starman. I was so blown away by this version. We waited 30 years to get a film of THIS caliber(after the flawed first attempt)
As someone who knows barely anything about mario apart from playing on the DS, i really appreciate the gentleman on the end explaining all the references 🙌

Lumalee, the blue star doesn't get a lot of understanding because not every fan has played the galaxy games. As everyone has seen, it is able to escape anytime it wants, move the cage without touching it. If it did died it has the potential to turn into a supernova, killing literally everyone. Maybe they'll explain in future movies with Rosalina
the only thing I wanted from this movie was more Luigi. but with the success of this movie, I'm looking forward to the Luigi's Mansion movie that will most likely happen now.

@@the_nikster1 it’s inevitable. I want Luigi’s mansion for sure, and including Daisy in some way (in a way, I kinda want a romance between them to happen before a potential Mario and Peach, to call back to the films) and a galaxy one.
Since Yoshi is teased tho, they might go for a world and 3 mix tho. There’s so much potential. I hope Illumination continues to do good work.

To clarify: Captain Lou Albano (the voice of mario in the tv show) passed away many years ago, so no, they are not the voices of the family memebers in the movie 40:55
Danny Wells (the voice of Luigi) also passed away in 2013, unfortunately 😢

As a person who often watches things with subtitles, I never once needed subtitles in that movie.
Unless you're referring to when miles, Miles' mum and Miguel speak Spanish, but even then I'd disagree, I don't need to know what they're saying I get the point.

I feel like the mushroom kingdom is so easy to conquer😂. They literally have no defenses at all or any strategy towards fighting back. Once shit goes down they immediately run away 😂😂 Honestly Bowser doesn’t need an army or a power star to destroy the kingdom, he could just do it all by himself.

@@dexkani9993 the live action Super Mario show and some similar plot points from the 90's movie along with other Nintendo products like the virtual boy are referenced. They don't belong to the large Mario universe as far as I know
Sunshine should be the sequel. Bowser showing up on Isle Delfina for revenge makes perfect sense

8:42 Haha detail, the reason Luigui is as coward as brave Mario is it was because during the Yoshi games back when Both baby plumbers got intercepted by Kammy Koopa. Mario was luckily found by Yoshi but in the other hand Luigui spend the whole game in Bowser's castle. Right now, from minute 1 Luigui experienced Luigui's Mansion flashblacks

Lou Albano who was the live action Mario was not the voice of the family member. He passed away years ago.
I like they said Charles was the original voice of Mario when he isn't, there has been other voices for Mario from the show and live action movie. Now for the video game yes he is the original voice actor.

So quick note for the guy thinking the guys that played Mario and Luigi from the super Mario bros super show were in the movie sorry to say but both guys passed away years ago..
One of the best parts of the Mario show was on Fridays it would be a Legend Of Zelda episode.
So something fun not a lot of people know about, the Blue Star Kid or Lumas CRAVE DEATH. Reason why is because when a Luma grows up eventually they super nova and become a new star, planet, galaxy or something else, and in the process make more Lumas to continue the cycle. Which is why the Blue Star Kid is constantly Macomb through the whole thing.
