He did. Clearly he picked the duck. Not only did he compliment it being a practical sandwich but at the end of the video he went right back to the duck. There’s a reason he took more bites of duck than the other two.
+Julialikescandy it was cut like how you would juice it, you cant juice a presliced orange (you can but its not the traditional way) ben was ready for this duck sandwich and prepared an orange slice, which is impressive to me
+Julialikescandy I would say that you "made my day", however its 7 in the afternoon for my right now.. so, you made my evening? Although... that sounds silly..
CheezWaterBall Productions well, i was more going with how 7pm, to me, is closer to the evening the it is in the afternoon. for me it goes morning, afternoon and then evening. I do however see your point that it does sound rather confusing :)
A perfect sandwich, that. Everything about it made my knees weak as he was building it, and perfectly balanced between fatty and salty and sweet and bitter and spicy. Damn.
Ultimate jam battle: Jamie: I'm going to make he ultimate strawberry jam. Barry: I'm going to makes an aeroplane out of jam. Mike: I'm making pumpkin spice jam.
@@Zommy08 and the presentation of the dishes would be Jamie: on a slab of beef Barry: on a slab of pink Himalayan salt Mike: a slab of wood with a rocket and dicon salad dressed with a balsamic reduction
I think Mike's won. Simple is always better even though his sandwich wasn't completely simple because of the duck and red onion chutney; however, that duck looked so succulent!
Recently started binging all the pass it on videos in Chrono order (because 2020 took the normal seasonal depressy to a whole nother level and these boys have a magical way of beating up the big SAD) and now I've started on the ultimate battles. I gotta say, it is an absolute joy to see these oldies and realize once again how far these guys have come since the beginning. I never would have remembered a time when Baz had never made a Yorkshire pudding! I'm loving this and it's just what the doctor ordered. Thank you boys. You do the world a great service.
I'm impressed that Barry made that Yorkshire pudding and mike made that duck all by themselves. (Though, Barry could have just nixed the buns and made sliders by splitting the Yorkshire puddings). For me, it's between these two (sorry Jamie). If pressed for a vote, leaning towards Mike. Maybe.
I came into the comments to say the same thing. And I agree Mike gets the win but Barry's sandwich looked amazing. The other one was a bit too much. Good call Maya :-)
The Yorkshire Pudding Barry made look amazing! If I make them myself they are never like this ) : But either way, I'd prefer Mike's Sandwich, it's the perfect Balance between duck, salad and buns ( :
Cubemasterchris With pulled meat (like pork) you normally cook it before you actually make it. Normally I have cooked meat in my fridge if I want a pulled meat sandwich because I'm not waiting around. You just have to learn to be prepared
He didn't have to say it. He clearly liked the duck sandwich. Towards the end of the video you can see his hand take the duck sandwich for another bite.
Hey guys! I totally want to see more of the battle series!! There are lots of food that you guys can compete on!! It is really fun to watch Barry, Mike and Jamie cooking and striving!
Mike's duck confit and here's why: Barry's sandwich was a great start for this battle. It looked very impressive and I'm sure it tasted delicious but main criticism is that the bread was sliced too thick. I was expecting for him to bake a giant Yorkshire pudding and use that as the bun or take 3 puddings and create 3 slider-esque/mini sandwiches. A solid #2nd place. Jamie, a bonus point for making your own bread but the sandwich just.... I dot know. Sorry. Mike. Oh Mike, you had me at duck. Now this is sandwich I would move to live beside that food cart for. This is sandwich I would happily die eating. So maybe it doesn't even begin to compare to how epic Barry and Jamie's look but I feel that it's humble appearance has its own charm.
Duck Confit. Hands down. There's nothing more decadent, even if it wasn't presented in an overwhelming way. Perfect size, perfect ingredients, and NO ORANGES!
Definitely Mike. The flavours of his sandwich were really balanced and it was all in all well rounded. It also looked delectable and in my opinion even more so than the intimidating stacks Jamie and Barry prepared. Although they both looked quite impressive, so tough call. :)
The duck. It just seems to be the perfect blend. Less is more. Execution is key. Given the choice between the three, I want to taste the duck sandwich.
Have to vote for the Duck confit. Mike has it right when you are eating a sandwich you want to know what you are eating. Simple and tasty, that's the sorted way
Oh, dear. I found SORTEDfood 2 weeks ago here on RUclips and can't stop watching. You guys are the best. I love your presentation on every video, your humor is awesome and I love how you all work together. I'm hooked 💚💛💜❤️💙
they all look awesome, but Mike won me over the second he added the chutney. The combination of sweet a long with the other savory flavors has to be AWESOME! That is a sandwich I would eat every day for a week!
Man I've been binge watching this channel since I finished work for the holidays. I've never laughed so much AND been so hungry in all my life. Hats off!
In one word, Mike. In a bit more than one: Barry's steak just looked perfect, and the puddings also look like they turned out great, but I feel the sandwich is a bit much. There's a reason why it's a ROAST DINNER and not a sandwich. Mike's was just a good sandwich. All the right elements, plus works as a hand-held meal. And Jamie... Well, he's a terrific guy, isn't he?
Mike's duck confit! It's simple yet gorgeous, and he's cut out the ridiculousness of having to eat a sandwich with cutlery. It's beautiful, practical, and an out of the ordinary protein; definitely a winner!
Barry! I'm impressed with how well the Yorkshire pudding came out, but that seems like sth not normally part of a sandwich. Maybe as dessert after the sandwich?
It would be hilarious to see you do a Masterchef type competition where Ben cooks something, classic or modern, and then the others have to do their best to recreate it. :p
Barrys sandwich looks and sounds great! Jamie baked his own bread, and put lots of meat and cheese on it, wich is also great! Mike made a simple, but good looking pulled duck sandwich wich doesn't fall apart and therefor gets my vote. #MikesDuck
It's nice to look back at an old video and see how much you guys have improved and how much effort now goes into all the dishes you make. These look good too (tbh Mike could have used nicer looking bread though, even though I still think he's the winner) but it's gotten a lot more epic!
Oh man, really going back in time with this one. I may have been binge watching old eps.... This format of battle was so much better in terms of getting actual recipes, but the current format is pure entertainment and hilarity. Love seeing how you guys have grown over the years.
Mike's is the best!! Simple is best, not too gourmet means easy to make and assemble. Idk if it I'd be able to cook duck for 6+ hours though but it's the meaning that counts :p (Totally not biased at all of course ;) )
I think that Mike should win. :) I'm sorry Jamie but there's too much meat for me. X) Barry's sandwich looks very nice but that thing on top scares me as I don't know what it is. X)
Gotta be the duck, I'm sorry but the other two are just dinner, with some bread on it, you can't make a curry or a stir fry or a cake, put it on some bread and call it a sandwich
"What is this?! Im sorry... Whats this?" made me laughing enough to wake the corgis XD Also, as an American I must agree with the "rubbish American cheese" sentiment.
i like it when ben chooses a winner it gives me a sense of security
my comment of the week
Have to stick with Jim. Knows what he is doing and looks great while doing it
He did. Clearly he picked the duck. Not only did he compliment it being a practical sandwich but at the end of the video he went right back to the duck. There’s a reason he took more bites of duck than the other two.
He did. He clearly picked the duck🤓
"With duck, it needs a little bit of orange"
*opens drawer, casually takes out already sliced orange*
The fact that oranges are already presliced by nature blows my mind. You open the orange and it's already sliced for you.
+Philip Stubs Isn't an evening part of a day? I think you meant to talk about a morning...
CheezWaterBall Productions well, i was more going with how 7pm, to me, is closer to the evening the it is in the afternoon. for me it goes morning, afternoon and then evening. I do however see your point that it does sound rather confusing :)
I got to vote for Mike, cause it looks good and doesn't seem like will require me to unhinge my jaw to take a bit out of it
This, if a sandwich is unholdable/unbitable it's just a bunch of tasty food randomly with bread on it, which is fine, but not a sandwhich.
Cosigned!
id go with the duck comfi just looks amazing and looks like the kind of thing you would expect when you hear the word sandwich
termitorules Confit*
badgerocks eh close enough
termitorules definitely the duck confit, that shit looked unbelievably tasty.
Fatalnightshade duck comfi xD xD xD
A perfect sandwich, that. Everything about it made my knees weak as he was building it, and perfectly balanced between fatty and salty and sweet and bitter and spicy. Damn.
I'd say Mikes is the best because it's the only one you can actually eat
You can eat the other ones. You can't fit them in your mouth.
barry one
Barry two
barry three
lol
mike, the only one who made a proper sandwich and not a skyscraper between two bread slices.
Ultimate jam battle:
Jamie: I'm going to make he ultimate strawberry jam.
Barry: I'm going to makes an aeroplane out of jam.
Mike: I'm making pumpkin spice jam.
There's no point doing it now, you've given away the ending!
Geor
my favriot is the duck one
more like
Jamie: strawberry jam with added pancetta
Mike: peanut butter salted caramel nutella avocado jam
Barry: traffic jam
@@Zommy08 and the presentation of the dishes would be
Jamie: on a slab of beef
Barry: on a slab of pink Himalayan salt
Mike: a slab of wood with a rocket and dicon salad dressed with a balsamic reduction
Mike won. Ben even went back for his at the end.
It's so odd catching up on these years later, because the boys have gotten so much better since they started!
I completely agree. 7 years later and their skills have jumped leaps and bounds
wish they would do more in this format. these guys are great !
Less is More, I vote for Mike's sandwich! :)
Duaa Kaddoura More is Morek, I vote for Jamie's sandwich! :)
Duaa Kaddoura agreed!
don't like duck but that sure does look good xD and jamie's and barry's sandwiches are more like burgers really 😂
Charissa Poh Exactly! I don't like duck either for that matter.
I think Mike's won. Simple is always better even though his sandwich wasn't completely simple because of the duck and red onion chutney; however, that duck looked so succulent!
Derp Master its good for streetfood because you can prepare the duck in bulk
Derp Master I love Mike's one but it's missing a drizzle of orange
No. Simply. No.
I come back randomly to binge a playlist, and every time, seeing the lads all so young is just weird.
Maybe.

The Yorkshire Pudding Barry made look amazing! If I make them myself they are never like this ) : But either way, I'd prefer Mike's Sandwich, it's the perfect Balance between duck, salad and buns ( :
Maya Larks I agree. Maybe Barry could have made a self-made potato bun to include the spuds, too. Might have been a little easier to eat.
Hang on, did Mike say sandwiches are quick to make, and just spent 6 hours+ making one??????
Cubemasterchris It's like making a pull pork sandwich.. you have to wait till the pork gets nice and tender before you can actually make the sandwich.
He might meant about constructing the sandwhich XD
Cubemasterchris With pulled meat (like pork) you normally cook it before you actually make it. Normally I have cooked meat in my fridge if I want a pulled meat sandwich because I'm not waiting around. You just have to learn to be prepared
Cubemasterchris i think he said quick to put together
Mike. Looks awesome, probably tastes awesome, and as he said no mess.
+Celina Malas I believe you're talking about the sandwich.
+onnaonah PMSL! LMAO!
I am a little disappointed Ben didn't declare his favorite!
***** Ah we wanted to let you guys decide this time! :D
SORTED Food but how can we decide if we can't even taste it :(
***** But he did by going back for the Duck sandwich at the end.
Dalal Alrumaihi Exactly. I appreciate them wanting to get people involved, but we can't taste it!!
He didn't have to say it. He clearly liked the duck sandwich. Towards the end of the video you can see his hand take the duck sandwich for another bite.
I think Mike because his was simple. Normally I like everything I can think of on my sandwiches but the others were too big and overwhelming.
Elissa Moore same
Elissa Moore That's what she said. Sorry had to say it.
Barry's looked the best but taste wise I would go with mikes, the fillings look so good
you're talking about the sandwich or ...
Same!
Mike looks delicious! I mean... Mike's sandwich looks delicious! (... Oops. Hehe.)
Tatobun! Mike and his sandwich looks delicious ok
I thought the same haha!
Tatobun! I never fail to be amazed at how beautiful Mike is. Sometimes I forget and then I watch a Sorted video and I'm like wow. Yes.
Tatobun! YES!
***** Calm down Aboli
Hey guys! I totally want to see more of the battle series!! There are lots of food that you guys can compete on!! It is really fun to watch Barry, Mike and Jamie cooking and striving!
5:02 the sandwich looks like an angry face
Oh my god I just saw that woah
Brooke Armbruster I thought I was the only one
Finally someone else sees it
All three of them look really amazing and have their own characteristics.. Hmm.. It's hard to decide.. But I'll vote for Ben! :)
He's the best of all the sandwiches... wait what were we talking about?
Mike's duck confit and here's why:
Barry's sandwich was a great start for this battle.
Mike had me at Mike. :P
When ben was taking out that orange😂😂😂
always keep some orange at hand, you never know when that duck comes around.
I so want a bite of Barry..... and his sandwich!
Welcome to the internet! :)
Silje R BARRY SHOULD WINNN
Yes!! :D
Mike should win.
yum
Abso-freaking-lutely!
the best sandwich I've ever made:
- toast
- dijon mustard
- avocado
- cucumber slices
- a fried egg
- grated cheese (mozzarella)
- salt & pepper
it's seriously amazing
How do you grate mozzarella? And where is the meat?
+Solid Steven with a grater? and I don't eat meat, not all sandwiches need meat lol
Michelle Armstrong I understand that, but if you grate mozzarella it just balls up in the grater.
we probably just buy different mozzarella
+Michelle Armstrong If you stick your mozza in the freezer for a bit before grating it makes it much easier!
Mike: "For me, a sandwich needs to be really quick to put together..." **does 6 hours of preparation before actually making sandwich**
Duck Confit. Hands down. There's nothing more decadent, even if it wasn't presented in an overwhelming way. Perfect size, perfect ingredients, and NO ORANGES!

The duck.
It just seems to be the perfect blend.
Less is more. Execution is key.
Given the choice between the three, I want to taste the duck sandwich.
Mike's sandwich looks awesome, and not overstuffed. He have to win this battle.
I have to go with Mike's
Am I the only one who lol'd when Mike said rubbish American cheese?
My bad. Jamie said that
I mean... It's true...
It was Jamie who said rubbish American cheese, not mike.
American cheese is shit
It tastes just like plastic XD
The duck confit definitely looks the nicest. I really love the flavour of duck and it looks amazing. It should win 100%
The duck confit. Absolutely mouthwatering.
You could do a Ultimate Soup Battle or Ultimate Student Battle (stereotypical student meals).
REI DECEMBER I thought that said ultimate soap battle for a minute 😂
Couldn't even hear Ben in the beginning because I was so focused on Jamie and Mike playing nose footsie
I would try mike's because it looks simple but amazing at the same time
Mike's was simple but delicious. I love it!
I made it a couple of days ago and I think it's amazing!
Have to vote for the Duck confit. Mike has it right when you are eating a sandwich you want to know what you are eating. Simple and tasty, that's the sorted way
Oh, man, what a decision!! I'd have to go with the duck sandwich. I was drooling the whole time watching Mike make it!!
Oh, dear. I found SORTEDfood 2 weeks ago here on RUclips and can't stop watching. You guys are the best. I love your presentation on every video, your humor is awesome and I love how you all work together. I'm hooked 💚💛💜❤️💙
Same, i discovered it abt 2-3 weeks ago...cant stop watching either! Severely hooked
The one that made me hungrier was Mike's ._. So yeah ._. Damn it I'm hungry now.

pulled duck sandwich all the way! I think I foodgasmd just looking at that *-*
First place Mike
Second Barry
Third Jamie
Barry! I'm impressed with how well the Yorkshire pudding came out, but that seems like sth not normally part of a sandwich. Maybe as dessert after the sandwich?
yorkshire puddings are completely savoury! nothing sweet about them and are definitely the best part of a roast 👌
He should have made roast dinner sliders on a a Yorkshire pudding
^wtf
+Ceri Hill actually that is traditional
You know it's not savoury right?
Barry: *first time making yorkshire puddings* --> *fucking perfect yorkshire puddings*
Me: -.-
can round 3 be pasta?
Danielle Louise you are amazing (idea wise)
***** what would be the point if they didn't? otherwise it would be challenge pasta sauce.
Pais523101 lol
Ben:I can't decide so I'll let you down decide! *grabs mike's sandwich to eat more of it*
Oh my god. Rocket is the cutest name for arugula!
We're British, we just can't help it :)
It's very very close, but for me it's: Mike, Barry, Jamie
It would be hilarious to see you do a Masterchef type competition where Ben cooks something, classic or modern, and then the others have to do their best to recreate it. :p
4:53 Hey! Americans aren't rubbish!
4:54 Oh yeah that cheese is rubbish... Carry on! I said nothing! .' )
+joedapanda 123 I thought the same. Instantly offended until I saw the cheese.
zbaerenlovesme :D My thought's exactly!
Agreed
+joedapanda 123 Same!
Totally agree with you
1. Mike
2. Jamie
3. Baz
But all three look delicious!
Barrys sandwich looks and sounds great! Jamie baked his own bread, and put lots of meat and cheese on it, wich is also great! Mike made a simple, but good looking pulled duck sandwich wich doesn't fall apart and therefor gets my vote.

Well, I stoped eatimg meat 3 years ago! But hands down, Mike's duck sandwich should win! :D
That Louis Theroux joke at 7:20 was hilarious!
Wow - ALL of them were impressive!!! And creative!!! Great job, guys!
Mike's looked super delicious. and the fact that it's actually sandwich sized says a lot.
Miiiike. I'm not a big meat eater so the other two seem like way too much meat. Mike's is balanced and doesn't require you to unhinge your jaws.
Mike is the best and love the way he said no oranges are in it
1st: Mike
2nd: Barry
3rd: Jamie
I would have to pick mike's it looks amazing and I love duck! 🍔🍔
Oh man, really going back in time with this one. I may have been binge watching old eps.... This format of battle was so much better in terms of getting actual recipes, but the current format is pure entertainment and hilarity. Love seeing how you guys have grown over the years.
"Rubbish american cheese" im Done 😂
Mike's is the best!! Simple is best, not too gourmet means easy to make and assemble. Idk if it I'd be able to cook duck for 6+ hours though but it's the meaning that counts :p (Totally not biased at all of course ;) )
MEXICAN stack?! Really Ben? Jamie might have messed up a bit, but he clearly said 'torta' and 'cubana' several times.
It's barely a cubano anyway, it doesn't have the pickles or mustard!
Seriously? they're calling a torta cubana Mexican and you have an issue with the authenticity of the relish...?
.... There is a Mexican dish called the torta cubana. That's not the same as a medianoche.
1:Mike
2:Barry
3:Jamie
Mike should win!! And I totally agree with the duck not needing orange!
Here I am eating my jam sandwich that took 2 seconds to put together
Ha
Lol same here
Lol I'm eating bread and butter
I think that Mike should win. :) I'm sorry Jamie but there's too much meat for me. X)
Barry's sandwich looks very nice but that thing on top scares me as I don't know what it is. X)
mike: all that matters is it being fast too make and delicious, proceeds to talk about the entire day it took to make the meat
That duck looks freaking delicious. No food in the house, why am I watching this again?
I'll quote Ben. "Asking to pick your favorite is like picking your favorite child."
Mike's beautiful (face) burger should win! It's simple, yet looks so tasty. Plus, Ben went back to eat more at end! That says a lot ;)
Loving the soundtrack.
Gotta be the duck, I'm sorry but the other two are just dinner, with some bread on it, you can't make a curry or a stir fry or a cake, put it on some bread and call it a sandwich
In order first would be Mike, then Barry and last Jamie (sorry too much going on!).
Mike's sandwich was simple and easy to make. He obviously won this challenge
A two day sandwich is simple...?
+fmlAllthetime There's a difference between simple and long.
I totally agree with Mike, I'd love to try the slow roasted duck with NO ORANGE. I also prefer baby spinach over rocket but Mike still has my vote.
Mike's!!
Love the energy. So infectious!
1. Barry
2. Barry
3. Barry
:)
Gigi Yang lol who else?
barry :D
and? barry?
Gigi Yang
Gigi Yang you forgot Barry
Gigi Yang Hey, i heard you like Barry. So i put some Barry inside your Barry to go with the Barry. Barry Christmas (7 months in advance).
I vote Barry, come on people a roast lunch in a sandwich. DELICIOUS!!!!
I agree
yeah but if you use a Yorkshire pudding in a sandwich and don't use it instead of bread then what's the point
Definitely the duck. The time put into that one and it just sounds amazing!
Sorted always puts me in a great mood!!
BEN HAS ALREADY DECLARED THE WINNER, at the end of the video, look at which on he picks to have another bite, Mike huttlestone
+TheFXGuy 101 subtle
Loved how they said torta CUBANA quite few times and in the end still were like "This mexican...".
LMAO SERIOUSLY.
Next should be the ultimate pie battle and the winner gets to smash the loser's pies in their faces 😂😂
"What is this?! Im sorry... Whats this?" made me laughing enough to wake the corgis XD
Also, as an American I must agree with the "rubbish American cheese" sentiment.
please make more ultimate battle videos they always make me laugh and the food always looks delicious :)
