- Welcome to English in a Minute!
If you feel peeved, you feel angry or annoyed. So, does “pet peeve” mean you are annoyed at your pet?
D: [Whistling sound] I’m sorry, Anna. Can you not do that? Whistling is a pet peeve of mine. And I’m trying to read.
D: Sure thing, Dan. No whistling.
D: [Another noise] Anna, you’re making another noise.
A: Dan, do you know my pet peeve is? Someone who needs complete quiet when they’re reading!
A “pet peeve” is a small thing that really annoys you. It can be odd and strangely specific. It is often something someone else does when you are around, and you just want them to stop.
My best pet peeve is when I am staying in my room, someone surprise open the door
Watching English in a Minute is my pet peeve, it's like trying to teach a cat how to bark.
When I put my phone in to charge but someone unplugs it-
I get new phrase🥰
I don't think I have any pet peeve 🤔
