  • In this film, we’ll be looking at one of the most popular second-hand WAVs, the Ford Grand Tourneo Connect rear-passenger WAV. Produced until 2021, this particular Grand Tourneo Connect WAV is a typical example that was expertly converted here in the UK.
Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, or WAVs as they’re commonly known, are vehicles that have been specially adapted so that a wheelchair user can travel safely and comfortably while seated in their wheelchair.
Search for a second-hand Ford Grand Tourneo Connect WAV at www.motaclarity.co.uk/used-wh...
This WAV ought to alter the way people perceive vehicles of this kind, changing as it does many of the fundamental things you’d expect from this class of vehicle. Its electronic safety features are cutting edge and its handling is superb for a vehicle of this kind. It’s even got clever equipment options and a modicum of style, making the Ford Grand Tourneo Connect a superb vehicle for wheelchair accessible conversions.
But where can you find the right one? That’s where Motaclarity.co.uk comes in, a motoring website for drivers with a disability and carers. Here’s where you’ll find high quality second hand affordable WAVs from specialist suppliers right across the UK - all in one place. These vehicles are all ex-Motability or privately-owned used Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles that are suitable for private customers or taxi firms that can also be used to transport a class 2 or class 3 mobility scooter.

Thank you to the team at WAVMOB who very kindly lent us a vehicle to review.

The video of the winch was a different car as it had a solid floor not carpet! McElmeel’s are brilliant at converting them. Great video not seen it before although I subscribe to C&D

At the moment there’s no point in getting a car from motability as the advance payment’s are far too expensive, for me I need a car that can accommodate a wheelchair hoist like I have in my Tiguan which I’ve now had 4 years and the way things are looking I’ll most probably have to keep it for another year, how you think people can afford such high deposits at the moment is unbelievable, don’t you realise we are struggling to make decisions each day like do I eat or do I put the heating on let alone pay up to £4000 for a deposit.

Hi Dave, we're not Motability so don't have anything to do with the prices but yes, you're right AP prices are too high at the moment, especially for larger vehicles like the one you have at the moment. If you do extend the lease hopefully by the time 5 years are up prices will have come down and vehicles will be much more affordable.
