Physics Problem: Momentum Principle to Hover a Human with Throwing Tennis Balls

  • A human has a mass of 70 kg and they want to fly in the air by throwing tennis balls straight down with a speed of 200 m/s. If the mass of a tennis ball is 60 grams, how many balls per second would need to be thrown? You can assume that the human doesn’t have to carry all these balls. But if they carried 100 balls, how long would they be able to hover?
