AAE comes to the rescue with their BITZ KNOB which evenly spaces the fletchings on your arrows perfectly. And for those of us who still work with traditional or glue on nocks, that indexing feature will allow repair of one fletch without having to refletch the entire arrow! Nice!

    Jake i watched this about a year ago. My Bitz (which is over 20 years old) suddenly began fletched uneven on the 120°. I was so frustrated with messed up fletchings on my hunting arrows, until i remembered this video. I got one and it was the best thing i ever did. My fletchings are perfect now. Thank you SO much for this video! God bless.

    A few months back I got a AAE knob as I got a Bitz jig, to replace my Decut one and I gotta say I was not impressed with the Bitz. The default knob was sloppy with nock fit and within the jig too which is why I got a AAE knob. In my experience I'd say the AAE knob is almost a mandatory upgrade. The jig itself had sharp burs on the base that I had to file off. I had to file the inside of the clamp too as there was very thin length of excess material in there which I cut a nasty cut from. The Bitz is supposed to be the gold standard jig but it seriously needs better refinement and better precision manufacturing from the factory. Considering there's numerous third party products to add features to the Bitz that other jigs just have says to me that it's well over due for a redesign.

      I've used a Bitzi for years after trying a number of other jigs and found it to be the most reliable way to fletch, never had an uneven spacing problem. I did get the AAAE upgrade and was disappointed in that the slop you mentioned is no better in the tripleA upgrade than the original knob and the upgrade lacked the nice flat indexing spot on the rotating knob. The ability to set the index is a nice feature tho.

    the 75 x 105 setting was a trad recurve setting. Guys used to think that an uneven fletch didn't hurt flight but gave better riser clearance.

    • @juancarlossegadecanosa67
      @juancarlossegadecanosa67 Год назад +1

      The great advantage of the 75 x 105 is that in a hunting situation, you can nock a follow up arrow without looking at it, and it will be always right, there is no cock feather.

    For me, the great advantage of this product over the original knob is the indexing feature. Regarding the uneven spacing, I've been hearing about that over the years, but I've checked five or six Bitzenburger knobs (even a pair from the 70's), and never encountered a problem.
    It would be great to include markings for the indexing, so you can go back to a previous setup with ease.

      I agree. I've got half a dozen Bitz jigs plus a few spare knobs for left and right wings and I've never noticed a spacing problem with any of them. Maybe it's only an occasional problem or there was a bad batch at one time.

      @@angelduncan9147 That's an interesting thought. I wonder if that's the root of it.

      I have no problem with spacing on my bitz either, the indexing feature of the new knob is or would be useful--if there is a problem with spacing it would create a flight problem. Once when I tried to reflect on fletch on the arrow it came out uneven so yeah the indexing feature would be great. Also the allen wrench required for changing the index setting is so small non of my sets of allen keys were the correct size-- I had to us a watchmakers screw driver-- wish tripleAE would have included this odd sized wrench with the kit.

    • @Waty8413
      @Waty8413 Год назад

      I think the uneven spacing comes from the stock nock receiver being a poor fit for many modern nocks. The poor fit allows the arrow to turn a few degrees in the receiver without the whole knob actually moving.

  • @garymickus6412
    @garymickus6412 Год назад +9

    Shouldn’t Bitz corrected this problem? At over $100 a jig imo they should have modified their jigs.

    I've never had issues with my Bitzenburgers after setting them correctly on a 120-degree 3-fletch setting. The highlight of this product is the indexing feature and the nock receiver fitment, which AAE accomplished by machining a replacement for what comes out of the box as a cast piece on the Bitz.

    Hi, I wonder if this receiver works well without any play and without it being loose once it's connected with the beiter asymetric pin nock 1 without using the beiter adaptator? On another note, I really enjoy watching your channel and I learn a lot of things despite my english level that's not the best :)
    I'd love for you to make a video clearing up what criterias allow to chose what vanes' offset (on the left, right side/clockwise, anticlockwise) to put on the shaft(s).

    The stock Bitz nock receiver just doesn't work well with modern nocks. I bought a bitz second hand and did not understand why they were so highly regarded until I added the Zenith upgrade kit. I couldn't get anything remotely resembling neat, evenly spaced fletches until I added the mods.

      It’s universal, with the turntable nock receiver you can adjust the cock feather in any orientation.

    Will this knob work for 3 and 4 fletch?

  • @David8n
    @David8n Год назад +2

    I'm a little unsure about the indexing feature. Once you change the setting I don't see how you'd go back to an earlier setting to re-fletch an old arrow. If you are using push on nocks it's not a big deal; it's easy to tweak the nock orientation. But if you are using glue on nocks then I'm not sure how you'd get exactly the same nock alignment as before. Thus you would run the risk of arrows in your set having slightly different nock orientation. Or am I missing something?

    • @juancarlossegadecanosa67
      @juancarlossegadecanosa67 Год назад +2

      You're right, that's why I think that some sort of markings for the indexing would be nice. The BPE fletching jig has a similar indexing feature, and includes markings for ease of use.

    • @classiiimalfunction722
      @classiiimalfunction722 Год назад

      Maybe place the arrow in the jig, loosen the index screw, clamp one of the vanes/feathers that’s still affixed to the arrow (attach clamp to jig) then tighten the index screw. Rotate to the stripped portion of the shaft & fletch with the new vane/feather
