Pinball, arcade games, mechanical games and more - getting hands on with vintage and retro gaming history at the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas! Learn the history of Atari's pinball division and Syzygy's Computer Space, Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney's first ever arcade video game from 1971. Of course, I also check out 100 years of pinball history and some more familiar arcade games too.

The wonderful thing with Computer Space being implemented in discrete logic is the sprites are present on the PCB; the flying saucer and four rotations of the rocket ship (which are flipped vertically and horizontally to give all of the possibly angles) are laid out in diodes in recognisably the same shape as they appear on screen, a nice little touch from Nolan Bushnell.

Oh yes! I remember hearing about this. It's a shame I didn't get a look inside.

I remember a Hercules pinball machine in an arcade in the 80s it was huge, if i remember correctly it used wooden balls that were softball sized. I believe that it was broken when i saw it.

Very interesting video. I've been searching for a specific Star Wars table I played as a kid in France...The search goes on.

I haven't been to the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas yet. I have been to Galloping Ghost Arcade in Chicago and I think it has even more games there! I recommend going if you have the opportunity next time you're in the states.

Oh nice! Would definitely be cool to check out Chicago one day. Thanks for the recommendation.

That Road Runner pinball game looks pretty cool. Shame it was only a prototype. It looks like you can play it as a Virtual Pinball table though.
Funspot in New Hampshire has a Hercules machine, at least it did the last time I was there in 2017. The ball is basically a billiard cue ball. They also had a working (at least some of the time) Computer Space.

This was very cool. By the way, a yellow Computer Space was used as a prop in the movie, Jaws. Thanks for doing this. :)

I would recommend to visit pinball museum in Budapest. It's much smaller but much closer as well ;)

Fabulous video. I'll very likely never get to visit and seeing it through your eyes is almost as good. I am however much better at pinball than you so maybe send me next time?! 😂

There was a Wacko game in my local Showbiz Pizza Place, back in the day. They didn't have any cats, though.

Massive fan of pinball machines. Im happy I can play some of the best simulated replicas on my console (Pinball FX). Im hoping they expand to as many of the coolest ones they can (license permitting). I like these simulations because well, i have no room for real pinball tables lol.
