Your football team is no where as important as OUR National Anthem. Kudos for the Lone player being respectful and singing Our Anthem. Freedom to honor Our Nation.
U know the reason they peacefully protest isn’t because the flag is offensive but for for much more in depth reason like the shooting of black peoples by officers it isn’t meant to be disrespectful be actually be respectful because America is supposed to be a land of free and equality but that hasn’t really been happening
I disagree, they had a team meeting and asked if anyone opposed this. He didn't speak up. He waited until the last minute to go and stand by himself. He should have been man enough to face the team and tell them how he felt. Instead he agreed with the plan and backed out last minute.

It's honestly sad to see all the disrespectful people who have been given the right and the freedom to do whatever they want in their life and you can't even stand up for the national anthem, it's not just the national anthem that they should stand for it's the people who fought and lost their lives to give you the freedom in life. some people just have no hart it's really sad.

Respect the flag before you respect the game because without the freedom represented by the flag and brought to you by the people like Alejandro Villanueva there would be no game.
Protesting against injustice in America has nothing to do with respecting a flag💀it’s funny how this turned into a you don’t respect your country instead of a let’s fix the problems protest... people of a darker skin color than the whites will never win and will always be looked at as the bad guys in every situation

Sadly, a large portion of the world is made of “stolen countries” Also, native tribes weren’t one unified nation and therefore can’t be condensed into one. Some tribes were extremely close but still enemies, wasn’t even a “country” to be stolen, just North America.
You know what I live in Pennsylvania and I loved the Steelers. I don't now because they showed so much disrespect. If I ever watch the Steelers again it will be because he stood and showed respect!!!
Rebecca Zeaman not sure if you care but this is the only week where the Steelers did anything different related to the national anthem and it was to avoid bringing politics into sports, not to protest

It's all about the "me me me" culture
Yep he is a loser and a ass clown. I new there was something I didnt like about him it finally surfaced.
...let alone, respect a fellow teammate who actively served - overseas, not just on our own soil. I'm blown away that a Coach would do that but it definitely shows his lack of leadership on every level.
Heck yes, we need to respect the correct message. One for all people. Especially in coming times there is no more black or white or dem or republican it is about our freedom that is being taken away. So proud of this man. It is so good to be able to say the word man and know what it means again. Tomlin meh..who cares.
Your football team is no where as important as OUR National Anthem. Kudos for the Lone player being respectful and singing Our Anthem. Freedom to honor Our Nation.

Jan Michael Vincent you got a point

Jan Michael Vincent what do you mean it’s a shame that he thinks it’s about freedom? That is the ideals this country lives by.
soon they won't even let the flag be flown, or the anthem be sung because its too offensive
Smokey Bear ikr
Smokey Bear that’s when a second civil war comes in. I will die for our flag.
Smokey Bear sounds like an excellent idea to me
Lispy Nicky better you than me
U know the reason they peacefully protest isn’t because the flag is offensive but for for much more in depth reason like the shooting of black peoples by officers it isn’t meant to be disrespectful be actually be respectful because America is supposed to be a land of free and equality but that hasn’t really been happening
Top selling jersey? Wow that’s the kind of hope I needed
💯💯💯💯💯😂😂😂😂 crazy that it’s the top selling ….. YET I HAVENT SEEN ANYONE IN THAT JERSEY🤦🏽♂️
His team disrespected him he didn’t disrespect his team. I respect that man so much for that!
I disagree, they had a team meeting and asked if anyone opposed this. He didn't speak up. He waited until the last minute to go and stand by himself. He should have been man enough to face the team and tell them how he felt. Instead he agreed with the plan and backed out last minute.
props and respect
he later said he didnt mean to do it ... so ya
jax1492 what?
Pineapple Studios he said he wasn't planning on being out there during the anthem. He just was on the field when the anthem started playing and he thought it would be disrespectful to leave while the music was playing. Afterwards he said that he was ashamed for making his teamates look bad.
If more players did this, I would still be watching the NFL.

Forgot to mention he was a Ranger! Dude is an absolute hero!
The only American Hero out on the field that evening. God Bless you, Patriot! 🇺🇸👍🏽💕🇺🇸
But he's playing for the Steelers.
I kid.
As a millitary veteran myself. I'm proud of him. Our flag doesn't represent any president but our rights and freedoms under our constitution with our bill of rights! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
He wasn’t the only person standing for the flag. He was the only one out in the open and standing for the flag. He had other teammates who were standing for the flag but in the tunnel. And Mike Tomlin had no problem with him standing. It was the fact that he wasn’t with the team deep inside the tunnel with no one to see them.
I now have so much respect for this guy🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That’s the difference between someone who follows the crowd, and someone who follows their heart. If you do the latter, you gotta be willing to stand all by yourself sometimes. Strong man right there.

Thank you for your service and taking a stand, Sir
One Army Vet to another, I'd stand with you anytime. My Oath is to my country and my Army teammates. God bless you
Would you also say you felt embarrassed after cause that's what he did.
this man served his country and fought to keep our freedom safe, and he's the only one who has the respect to stand for the national anthem.

So you don't believe in natural rights
lordminion 66 you said all that even tho it means nothing 💀 his team was 20 feet behind him and he even came out and publicly apologized for this
lordminion 66 it’s a FREAKING song get over it
Not the song, the meanings and values behind it. The same for mostly all Nation’s anthem / banner.
Now we have the NFL preaching how they love the vets. 2016-2020 they wanted nothing but unrest.
2016 was some weird times.
Can't remember how many years ago I STOPPED watching the NEGRO FELONS LEAGUE and I haven't missed it nor do I want to hear anything about our military from them. I'm a Vietnam Veteran, Civil Service and US Marine retired with 35 years of service to MY country. Can't begin to tell you how many, birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgiving, New Years and Easter vacation day I have spent outside the continental United States. But SOMEONE had to be FAITHFUL and "stand the watch" so all the people that did not care about the Armed Forces could party on these days.

Furthermore, it isn’t their place to fix problems. Their place is to play football. Expect consequences when you exercise your use of free speech.

Rebecca Zeaman thats called a bandwagon just sayinh
Rebecca Zeaman not sure if you care but this is the only week where the Steelers did anything different related to the national anthem and it was to avoid bringing politics into sports, not to protest
This is to represent the good thing about America for our beloved heroes in 9/11 and good police men, firefighters, people who fought in our wars, our great American soldiers
The solidarity of any sports team is extremely important, but my years of service would ALWAYS be more important than the team.
