That Gospel influence on them vocals are all through the first "sex, love, and pain" album. Crazy... I genuinely hope the Lord uses him to birth out a whole Gospel album.
Can we take a moment to acknowledge Isaac's openness of vulnerability when he expressed how hes in grief counseling to help with process his mother's transition!. Being a PK we didn't do counseling we just prayed to the lord. That was a beautiful moment!!!
I’d like to see a documentary based on that book also. Outside of music, the basketball stories are even funny. Jamie Foxx said he “flashed” on somebody.
So we had Lil Mo', Now we got Isaac Caree, can we just go on and bring the GOAT John P. Kee??? But in all seriousness, I love this podcast and the versatility in the guests. I stay waiting for the next episode to drop every week!
True story, but first, thank you guys so much for having Isaac Carree on the show. I was at my freinds house drinking and having fun in Dec of 96, I had been drinking for years, and messing up my life. But my freind's mom bought a new tape home on day. And it was called Whatcha Looking For, by Kirk Franklin and the Family. And so she asked us if we'd be interested in watching it. And we said yes we would. And man! Moma's song, and Why do we sing, changed my life. But I loved all of the songs. The spirit came straight thru the television screen. I stop drinking, and stopped drugs.I was a high school drop out. But went back, and now with a GED and two College degrees. thanks to Kirk. And on January 14th 2023, I will have 26 years Alcohol and drug free. Yes Kirk Franklin changed my life with his Album. Tank and J Valinentine you two guys are game changers for the good of the internet. Thanks agian.
18:40 be a thinking singer 24:12 have a teachable spirit!!! 29:10 nothing wrong with being a copy cat, as long as you copy the right cat🔥 40:44 everybody wanna shine, but no one wants to buff
Coming from someone that didn't grow up in church and probably know only two of the names y'all mentioned in the gospel world this was refreshing and it was something about this brother that made me want to look up him and everyone else and I'm just so glad that this podcast has put him in front of me. My wife would fall on the floor if she heard me listening to gospel music. The first song I looked up was clean his house and man I am loving it.
Bro this just made my day man I got maaaaad respect for u g for sayin that. Just try it man even try wit ya wife and have that experience together man 💪🏾💪🏾 check out Tim Bowman, Kirk Franklin, John P kee u will enjoy my boi 🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾💪🏾
It would be nice to see Pastor John P. Kee on R&B Money Podcast, since he was so instrumental in a lot of R&B singers' success and longevity. I would love to see this!! Love, Love this Podcast!!💋 Prayers, Blessings and Prosperity to All!!🙏🏽💐🙌🏾👑💐💋💋
Mrs. Nancy was a GIANT here in Greensboro!! Her presence is missed dearly. I will never forget the first time I heard her voice. Thanks for shouting out little ole Greensboro!! I'm like a kid at Christmas watching this episode!! This was an amazing episode. Thank you for blessing us with this. One of my favorite episodes.
I agree with you! I was thinking the same thing watching this. His mom was a blessing to so many. I've followed Ike from the start. He's so humble, funny and remains down to earth. I'll continue to love on him and his family. Thanks for mixing it up guys.
This episode was “one for the ages!” The truth 💣 this man was dropping! Absolutely incredible. I thank y’all for consistency and consistently bringing us everything we needed and didn’t know we needed! Y’all are “100 Percenters,” when it comes to these episodes. Haven’t missed, not one time, with the guests! It’s just getting better and better and I look forward to each and every one. Shout out to Isaac for an amazing, and truly special episode, and “sorry to this man,” for his accident on the pastor’s steps. I shall never forget this episode. I’m crying over here!
Actually, Aretha didn’t even get to do a soundcheck for that performance. She had performed it a couple nights before with Pavarotti and he called the Grammys producer 5-10 minutes after the show STARTED, said he can’t sing, and that’s when Aretha got pulled backstage and asked to sing it. They added the 30 second intro to it just so she could hear the monitors but that’s it. And she killed it. The epitome of ICONIC.
🤣 🤣 Whewwww! My head hurts from the laughs from this morning legendary episode. I could listen to Tank, J, and Isaac for another 2 hours sharing stories. A great overall Vibe and life long friendships. Can't wait to see who's coming next week. ❤
I know this was 1 year ago but there's a reason I'm seeing this today the 14th of July 2024. I need to hear these words. Thank u for sharing. It means a lot to me. Send lots of love stay blessed.
Please take J. Valentine to church. He is so funny!! I had never heard of Issac before, but this was a great interview. When he said chain me & they all fell silent and burst out laughing 😂😂😂
The segment on Kirk Franklin really touched me. Kirk Franklin is one of my top 5 artists of all time. Since I was 7 years old, his music had my ear and still does 2 decades later. If you all get Kirk Franklin on here, I just want to express my gratitude to R&B Money Podcast in advance. Much gratitude!
I fully understand this podcast is about the appreciation respect and love of all things R&B but God gets the glory out of every single one of these episodes.
Men Of Standard was/is one of my favorite music groups and Ike Nice is one of the smoothest vocalist around. Thanks for this episode R&B Money Podcast.
I was scrolling and reading through some comments and saw that some people haven’t even heard of Isaac Carree until this video.. The souls he reached mannn. See how God uses people to bless others? He is sooo good!
I adore me some Isaac Carey b/c he is confident in his spirituality and can have a great conversation. I like how he does not put church on this pedestal how some Christians do.
That's creeepy ---- nobody ever talks about If It's Magic by Stevie Wonder and I'm like how come nobody ever mentions that song?!?! I still remember being glued to the screen when Tyrese sang it on an episode of Martin. That song is my favorite Stevie song, lyrics, melody, all of it
1:13:47:4-1:14:28:5 I felt this to my core! I've learned more about myself since I stopped going to church and decided to establish a REAL RELATIONSHIP with God for MYSELF! God really meets you where you are and it's really up to you to follow Him once He comes to get you. I grew up in church all my life; my mom plays piano and my dad plays drums so I know "church" and religion. I didn't have the relationship. I'm 30 yrs old and I now have the relationship. I'm slowly but surely trying to find my way back to the church because I know what it means to serve and I love singing. God has his way of reaching His people! Those that get it, get and those that don't, they just don't.
Fun Fact~ Tyrese and Tichina Arnold sang “If It’s Magic “ on an episode of Martin when Pam was trying to become an A&R at Keep It Real Records😂😊 Kudos to The Valentine for not cussing in front of those people!🤣
I havent missed one of these episodes and once again there is no disappointment! Isaac Carree is a LEGEND! "The Gospel is Free...but Ministry Cost!" J. Valentine trademark that!!!
I love how transparent everyone was in this episode. So pure! As someone who did grow up in the church, but started my faith walk later in life, I can appreciate how honest J is about not growing up in the church, so honest.
Tank describe to me omg! In the early nineties Isaac carree was the voice that I love the most from the John p Kee tribe. We are only two years apart he was such an inspiration and I was able to meet him when I was 16 and he was 18 years old. This interview ministered on so many levels. As a PK, I got all of this and it hit home. Ike dropped for many gems. Church hurt is a result thing. But, I truly appreciate the transparency more than anything. Folks definitely need to take notes and rewatch this (including myself). This interview is definitely in my top 3 for R&B Money. If you all get Kirk on here … Lawd. Again, amazing interview for sooooo many reasons. Blessings to the hosts, staff & crew. This encouraged my heart in so many ways.💯

Tank and J, please don't forget to bring in the legendary Kelly Price. She is someone who has contributed so much to the R&B culture. Thundercat is another important figure to bring in especially since he's from the Cali area. Graditude🙏
One of the first Gospel CDs I ever bought was Men of Standards' "Feels Like Rain". It is still a favorite of mine....LOVED everything about this interview!!!
I attended church with brother Ike. He and his Mother Dr. Nancy Caree were true people of God. Straight from Greensboro North, Carolina. Some of my best childhood memories were singing with the nationally known, BLACK CHILD CHOIR! I remember him moving to charlotte to sing with JPK. 🙏🏽This is my brother
Yo I LOVE the fact that Tank and J introduce somebody that I had NO CLUE who they are a platform to tell their story...I love this interview and now I'ma check out some of his music. Good job R&B Money!!
This was one of the most entertaining interviews thus far. Mr. Carree has a lot of personality, and you all have great chemistry together. I was glad to see more of J. and his real personality. Bay Area stand up, Friscos finest!

Only a few minutes into the video, but already having memories. Growing up in Martinsville, VA and watching "Gospel Expo" on Sunday mornings before church was a Sunday highlight. Now living in Greensboro, seeing Men of Standard rise (shout out to my Bishop Pierce). The church on Highway 29, just so many memories. I know I'm going to enjoy this interview.
Kirk 💯 % will give messenge that your inner spirt will wake up all of your soul. He came to my daughter graduation Bacular had teacher and parents in tears. VA. was very happy 😊. Yes what everyone don't know gospel music gave R&B Life from 40s til this day 2023. Amen Salute Tank press forward 🙏 with both .
I've enjoyed all of the podcasts thus far but I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS episode!! The laughs were out of this world!!! I would TOTALLY watch this episode AGAIN and laugh like I've Never even watched it!!💯💯 Thanks Tank, J and Isaac🙏🙏💛
I love the intention of J. Valentine not using profanity and being respectful of the audience but still being himself...which he is hilarious!!
I was gonna post about that til he mentioned it. I definitely noticed. I knew he wasn't gonna say "funny or fucked up"
Tank is such a church boy. You can see how excited he is to talk gospel music
He lights up like a CRIMUH TREE

We really need that documentary about Johnnie Newt. When done right that is going to be fire!

Certain guests on this show deserve a segment at the keyboard.
I agree! A few mins of singing or playing won’t hurt anybody.
That would cap it off perfectly. Like a ... "2 minute freestyle" or a "if you could only sing one song'...
I totally agree!! I was just thinking that!
So we had Lil Mo', Now we got Isaac Caree, can we just go on and bring the GOAT John P. Kee???
But in all seriousness, I love this podcast and the versatility in the guests. I stay waiting for the next episode to drop every week!
