I think that it's messed up. Mario said that he'd let bf and gf go if they won 3 rounds against him, and then he just straight up kills them both before the song's even over

He killed gf first (which makes sense, because he wanted DD to suffer), but bf didn't have anything to do with him. Yet he psychologically tortured bf by having gfs corpse sing against him, and then he was impaled right through the heart
I mean, BF is the reason that they both bailed into the warp zone after Starman Slaughter So by that logic, BF broke the deal And what better way to kill than applying some good ol' emotional damage first
