5:59 that is not president's building, seat of president is in building to the left of that one, not visible here. That one in the video is used for City assembly of Belgrade and mayor's office. Both of them were part of royal family complex before WW2, and that park betwen them was basically royal garden with a big fence around entire complex.
This is the first time i heard anyone pays tourist tax, lol. I imagine it may be charged automatically by a hotel, but then you are getting hotel service etc. if you are with friends and families, it makes no sense. But not familiar with the law, respect for trying to follow it.
Generally, these taxes are collected from tourists from the hotel they stay in. Even tourists don't understand this. If you are not staying in any official hotel, if you are staying as a guest with someone, we have to pay this. The same system existed in Montenegro. And I was surprised.
@@ehadpuskullu Same system is in most of Europe, i had to pay those taxes anywhere in Europe, here in Serbia by law those taxes are paid by the host of the place you stay at, they must be included in the price and usually you don't have to deal with such stuff yourself if you stay in hotels or private apartments through booking/airbnb. And if you don't pay it you will not be responsible but the host of the place you stayed here, and although they don't check it for 90% of people border police can definitely make a problem if you don't have it, since every foreigner that stay here 24h or longer must have a registered place (and police get that info when host send info for these taxes).
I have never heard anyone asking about it ever. Its not like border agent will know if you stayed in a hotel (where it is charged automatically) or decided to beat the system by just partying all night :).
@@mnemonijathey can definitely check if you had "prijava boravišta", basically if you registered where you stay, and that is done through that tourist tax (boravišna taksa). It's not a big deal since police is not so strict about this, but if you can avoid any bad border experiences better pay if your host don't do it. If you rent through online platforms in private apartments most of the time you will see that tourist tax is included in the price, but better ask the host to be safe.
