@@dynamo4543 I reached out to the record label awhile ago and they said there’s no plans to release it on CD in the near future. They just released a 2nd vinyl pressing of the box set.
New subscriber here as I also did a first impression box set opening. Literally caught on camera. Wonderful compliment to a weekly series I did with a friend on the band’s catalogue.
The sleeves and inners in the box set are the same as the originals, even the labels match (almost), slight differences, madfish etc.. The Crimson Idol wasn't a double album originally, they just enlarged the print and did two sleeves. The 'extras' album has not been released before so there is no inner sleeve to copy, hence the anti-static sleeve. It's a fantastic box set. Would have been an absolutely amazing box set if they had included a blu-ray of the Live At The Lyceum 1984 video in it, WITHOUT the overdubbed garbage crowd noise but with the original 'crowd noise'. I have been to hundreds of gigs and not once have i been at a gig that sounded like that WASP video, totally ruined it
I just found your channel, thanks to that W.A.S.P. thumbnail, I think, great channel gave you a sub, I got to see W.A.S.P. with Quiet Riot New Years Eve 1985, it was epic, I mainly talk rock vinyl on my channel and post a few concert clips. Thanks for sharing the great music info. Happy Halloween!
I grew up with them I started out with their cassettes then cds 💿 in the 90s and 2000s seen them in concert in 2000 .I have some of their earlier vinyls .I'm getting excited about the vinyl box set to .
I played the hell out of the first album,but then got slayer show no mercy and this started my journey into the more extreme side of metal ,but still have good memories of that first album 😊

Got into WASP late, they’ve become a favourite, always thought they were poser glam, but hell their first LP at least is excellent heavy metal, great guitars!
Ordered mine a few days ago merchbar is still taking orders for it direct from madfish other sites are sold out or are charging crazy amounts for it which is typical. I hope it ships soon i missed the preorder time frame. Cannot wait to get it.
I have first press of their first album and inner sleeve is just like original. Great looking box but I have to pass. I have all those albums on cd. I am vinyl guy but there's so much box sets and prices keep going up and I just can't get everything. Glad you got it. Cheers from Finland, Petri
It's a nice box, nice review! The inner sleeves are not good, too tight to get the records out without touching the grooves. I actually got a few scuffs on mine due to the bad sleeves and man handling of the records. Looking at an angle there were micro hairlines on a couple of them. Not exceptional. Absolutely get MoFi sleeves for these. Hopefully they sound good!
Oh,WASP were never glam metal. I think their debut album is pure heavy metal.Another two might sound kind of ""soft"" but the Live album that came after Inside The Electric Circus was again,pretty heavy. Great band.
Ran into the band at a hotel I was staying at. And WASP was staying on the second floor above us. everyone but Blackie was on the balcony and we noticed them being we were going to the show that night. They were playing with KISS. Who is who we were goin to see of course. Asked them for their autographs and they tried pouring their beers on us from the balcony, then they called Blackie out from the room and he came out and tried to spit on us. Never a bigger piece of trash band has there ever existed.
I would be very curious about the sound quality, they had some great choice riffs and songs but also some of the worst , boomy 80's production (mostly by Blackie himself) of any metal band of the era.
Oh cool! You like a good band. Ditch that silly band Mortician. I'd dump all those mortician records in the trash. Can't see anybody buying them. Save your money for slayer records!
That first record is such a classic. I never get tired of hearing it.
WASP. One of the first bands I've got into as a Kid in Iron Curtain ( Lithuania ) back in 1986 . Amazing band. Great Boxet.

I’m a CD guy and was bummed to see this set was not released on CD. I’m hoping it eventually does get a CD release, I love those old WASP albums.

Ironic how both Slayer's first album and WASP's first album have songs called 'Show No Mercy' and 'Tormentor'. Both albums were released in 1984. 😉👍

How do they sound. I have not found any info on the mastering process or other details other than it's a Euro release.

Try $1000 for a single album Kiss box set.
