Bash the Trash builds and performs on musical instruments made from trash, making connections to science, plastic pollution and climate change along the way. Bash the Trash consists of 35+ performers and educators nationwide and abroad. BTT was formed 30+ years ago by husband-and-wife co-directors John Bertles & Carina Piaggio. BTT was nominated for a Drama Desk Award and a Grammy Award for the creation of a set of unique instruments made from beach trash for the Tony-award winning Broadway show "Once on This Island."
