perhaps the joy of Christmas was displayed right at the end when Ben Morris ,the wonderful organist ,was joined by his young daughter ,enjoying her first Christmas.
It is incredible how all of this dressing up,the bobbing and bowing and the ceremony still exists and still has meaning for I suspect a continually diminishing number.
What on earth is that ugly podium surrounding the alter in the nave? I can truly understand that maybe some members of the clergy have walking difficulties & should be catered for, but surely a more appropriate piece of church furniture could have been designed in keeping with the magnificent architecture of the Minster. It sticks out like a sore thumb and looks more like the passport control area at Heathrow. Dismal!!!!!!
