I saw in one of your videos you bought the Historian by Elizabeth Kistova. It’s one of my favorite books. It has elements of research, travel, mystery and some supernatural thrown in.

Loved the vid!! You should try The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd. The book touches on academia, map making, and the New York Public Library.

Loved Discovery of Witches!!! Now I need to read it again.
If you like books of historians you might like The Pink Carnation Series 😁 I just found your channel so if you’ve read them already I apologize for the redundant suggestion 😊

I haven't read the all souls trilogy yet so I'm not sure how the writing styles compare, but the way you described that series reminded me of The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow, which I really loved! I highly recommend this book to folks and look forward to reading the author's other books too

Legends and Lattes - quick, quirky, fun. Jacqueline Winspear’s Maisie Dibbs series, recommend reading them in order. Her research is impeccable and personal.

For sci fi I recommend Project Hail Mary, Leviathan Wakes and Red Rising. Red Rising reads more like a fantasy novel

I really enjoyed Fourth Wing and was excited for Iron Flame but didn’t really like it. I won’t read any more of the books in the series if there are more.

Recommendations… The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey. Chronicles of St Mary’s by Jodie Taylor (who doesn’t love time traveling historians). Not Science Fiction, per se, but beautifully written, Life after Life and Transcription, both by Kate Atkinson. Thanks, enjoying your channel!

I finally read ACOMAF this year as well, and while I didn't like the first book much and I do have issues with the book, I had fun with it... though, I am primarily a fantasy reader and It is more the romance that isn't my norm lol

I skim read 150 books for comps. PhD life 😂 I’d recommend The Blood Trials duology by Nia Davenport for a sci-fi series as well as The Ending Fire trilogy by Saara El-Arifi

The Guildhunter series by Nalini Singh has great world building & while there’s romance, it’s more about the plot (angels, vampires, etc)

I am on a strict no-buy because I'm moving in 6 weeks and I have enough books as it is and I didn't want to watch this video until after the move, but it kept popping up on my feed and I gave in 😂 I have made a list though and will give fantasy a try this year. Thank you for the recs! ❤

You are not the only one that believes Nesta takes advantage of Cassian. I didn't care for the ending, made me a bit angry lol. Thank you for rating books and the recommendations.

How do you carry around your books since you seem to move from country to country? Just curious. Books are heavy and take up a lot of space.

Discovery of Witches. Loved it. I read all three books and watched the series on tv. Agreed, the last book wasn’t as satisfying. :)

On the sci-fi front I strongly recommend The Martian by Andy Weir, and more or less anything by Isaac Asimov

Thanks for the recs Kaelyn! Could you do a video on how to break the habit of reading to induce sleep? I am starting a doctoral program this year but I have gotten into the habit of reading to help me sleep. I don’t know how to break the habit and I feel like I don’t have the focus I used to for reading. Any suggestions would be so helpful!!

For academic reading I try and change up my environment often and have music playing which keeps me going ♥️ I read fiction to help get ready for bed still
