- Let's take a look at the CHIRP 3D Realvision on the AXIOM from Raymarine to see why this is the best unit on the market today.
Raymarine Axiom 7 RV: amzn.to/2VLidDM
Raymarine Axiom 9 RV: amzn.to/2SM90Jm
Raymarine Axiom 12 RV: amzn.to/2M1UM4m
The new AXIOM from Raymarine is one of the best sonar/GPS units on the market today. With wide spectrum CHIRP Sidevision, Downvision, Realvision 3D and High CHIRP sonar it has everything a fishermen could need. The Android based units with Lighthouse 3 are the easiest units to use on the market in 2017. The quad-core processor makes these the fastest and most responsive units today.

Man dude....your walkthrough/review is making me want to get one...not because I need it but because it looks cool to have lol
Yeah for sure man! These units are so impressive. The 7 and 9 models are very reasonably priced too compared to others. The 12 still gets up there though lol
raymarine just blew the competition away with this
just got mine yesterday, can't wait to take it on the water
How has it been? What are they like in deep water?
@@lukawilliams4822 i fish fresh water so its upto 40 feet max but its working fine have been using it regularly for the last 3 years. but eventualy switched to the element 9 inch, the axiom i use mainly for pelagic fishing and navigation
@@AlexBoom73 I do a lot of pelagic and bottom fishing. Which model would you recommend out of the to?
@@lukawilliams4822 if you would only use one unit then i would go with the "Axiom +" because you can attach a secondairy transducer to the unit, one for scanning and finding fish and one for the pelagic fishing and target the fish. but keep in mind i am a fresh water fisherman and although the names are the same the pelagic saltwater fishing is completly different than pelagic fresh water fishing
I have one on my hobie pro angler, still learning it but very cool
I have a couple questions:
1. In saltwater, is it possible to adjust the sound velocity in water?
2. In saltwater, is adding tidal corrections, e.g. through tidalstations, possible?
3. Is it possible to plot your own chart and save the measured depths?
Is there a way to export this data as Pointcloud or a 3D mesh ?
I realize this is a simulation but did anyone else notice the digital depth readout doesn't match the image depth? 70-80 feet vs 20-30 ft... Hope this isn't what happens in real time sonar use lol....I use all Raymarine electronics and love them you would think the demo guys would have picked up on that glitch though :P
LOL I didn't catch that.
I see that. Would like to hear real users feedback when RM starts shipping.
+Jimbo sammy They are shipping. Should see some on the water videos soon
Can I ask the main difference/benefit of the 100dvs transducer vs the rv 100. Currently have the dvs and want to know the extra features if I invest in the rv 100. Cheers Matt
You'll get SideVision and RealVison 3D sonar if you get the RV100. So you'll get side imaging and 3D side imaging. The transducer is about 10" long also. If you have a 7" model there were some that were DV only and the RV100 wouldn't work with it. 9" and 12" will be ok though
@@InDepthSonar awesome mate! I’ve been looking everywhere for that info! I have a Axiom 9 and I just did the latest software update. Sounds like I’d be silly to stick with the 100DVS. The unit is far more capable then I thought
I thought this was on my new Raymarine Element 12 but I can't find it, nore how to get it. Can it be acsessed in simulated data? or must it be installed?
I believe it only on a axiom
Hi, if I just wanted to connect two together Axiom 7 and Axiom 12 RV, is there a cable I can get without the need for a switch? Can I also daisey chain the power supply...just makes things a lot easier than running cable back to battery, Thanks H
If you only have 2 units then you can just plug a Raynet cable betwen them and you'll be good. You cannot daisey chain the power. Each will have to run their own power cable.
@@InDepthSonar Thanks dropped the idea due to resticted space probably sell the 7" Axiom, think now I'll just put my Ipad Pro 12" on arm with suction cup to window and wireless to Axiom 12" RV. I do have a Dragonfly 4 Pro which I would like to keep, just that I have to change the transducer (RV-100) to suit my new Axiom 12 RV to enable 3D Realvision. Is there a Y cable I can get to facilitate this?
The RV100 won't work on the Dragon fly 4 and you cannot network the Axiom to the Dragonfly so they will need their own transducers
@@InDepthSonar I'll remove the Dragonfly 4 and transducer was going to keep as backup. The RV-100 transducer if in close proximity to to dragonfly transducer on transom may interfere with each other so the dragonfly transducer has to go..
In 3D realvision mode what are maximum side and down vision?
Max would be 300', but really going to perform best in 150' or less
What are they like in deep water ??
They are good
How many axiom screens can I run on one transducer....
I have seen 4 networked together. You should be able to do more with a HS5 network switch

Can you please give me advice i am between axiom 9 and humminbird solix 10 and lowrance hds 9 carbon what is the best?
Axiom 9 - Best value for you money. Fastest unit among those three. Easiest to use.
HDS 9 Carbon - over priced right now. faster than a Solix, but not as fast as Axiom. MUCH easier to use than Solix
Solix 10 - Lots of money for a slower, and harder to use touch screen version of a Helix. Get a Helix 10 if you go Humminbird. They are hard to use compared to the HDS or Axiom.
Thank you very much for your prompt answer.😉
when can I buy
At a Raymarine dealer locator.raymarine.com/
has it been released yet?
+matthew myers I don't think so. Most places are taking preorders though
Well you made 3 videos and only talked about the 3d and graph screens
Yes that is correct.
As an UI/UX Professional (User Interfaces and User Experiences) this gives me instant boners. Raymarine did a very good job, to bring me so many neat features wrapped up in a very responsive and crisp UI. Just wow. Definitely sell my lowrance stuff and switch to raymarine.
Can this be mirrored to an ipad for example?
Not sure on that one but I'll try to find out. It has WiFi so as long as there is an app for Raymarine it should do this.
Not yet the rayapp doesn't work yet, but that will work with the next software update that is coming
Looks hard to use..
go try one out and I think you'll find they are very easy to use.
Not another over-promising Raymarine product?
No not over promising. One of the best units you can buy today
who else besides simrad has a comparible product?
That is it. Only Navico (simrad and Lowrance) and Raymarine have 3D imaging sonar.
Nope. Garmin had proposed 3D sonar 2 years ago. ruclips.net/video/cMtEb-6TLLE/видео.htmlm8s
Panoptix is a little different than Imaging 3D sonar as being mentioned here. Panoptix does take its live sonar data and display it as 3D Historical, however the image quality of bottom structure is nowhere near the same. From a fish dection standpoint, Panoptix and RealVision (and even StructureScan 3D) would all be comparable, but where bottom structure detail is concerned RV3D and SS3D have Panoptix beat. Especially SS3D with the new update on HDS Carbon.
That is a more detailed answer of where I was coming from in my previous reply stating only Lowrance and Raymarine have it.
