Even if N.Korea had the fastest missile on Earth it would still take them 13 minutes and 30 seconds to get a nuclear missile from North Korea to Hawaii. Even if it took our fighter jets five minutes to take off they could still get 225 miles away from Hawaii where they can shoot it out of the air. Even tho realistically we would send a barrage of missiles to blow the nuke out of the sky and our missiles travel faster than our jets, so it would explode probably 500 miles or more away from Hawaii. And a nuclear explosion only has a blast radius of 5 miles max, with strong winds radiation may travel 10 miles from the blast, past 50 miles you are in no danger of a nuclear explosion.
