Thank you for showing your setup. I was wondering what that was every time I walked past. Unfortunately you were never home/visible when I was passing.

Don't wait for "some day". Make it happen! If you live in the U.S. it doesn't take as much as some think: A week off of work; means of transportation; basic camping gear; money for the gate fee and food.

this was really relaxing... thank you! I really enjoyed just getting to see around the camps. I would love to attend next year so this was helpful!

Like Skill Tree said in their video, the SCA is probably the most inclusive group there is. Everybody is there to learn from each other.

Don't be! We're all nuts, but mostly a lot of fun :-)

It depends very much on what your local group is like. They're mostly pretty good at welcoming new people, but it's possible that now and then a group has become insular. We're an international organization with tens of thousands of people - you get a range ;) But, I found the SCA when I was 19, I'm 67 now and from Pennsic Four to now, I have been to every Pennsic save one, and I'm going to Pennsic 50 this year. I like to say that if you want to learn something, there is someone in the SCA that can teach you, and if you have something to teach, there is someone in the SCA that will want to learn from you. And I know of no place that is comparable for people being eager to share what they've made and to see what you've been up to ;)

Felt like a POV of an NPC at the end there

Nice clip. My first was VIII but health has made recent ones impossible. I wonder who was the person at the first, since I know some of them.

I was camped on the same block as you, wanted to ask about your setup the whole week I was there but never passed by with you in camp.

Its funny how timing works out--other people thought I was there all the time.

Nice video. Thank you! How did your shelter hold up in the rain?

It worked well in a light rain with no wind. Some water did collect on the top because its not very flat, but not enough to be a problem.

Where did you get your fantastic little burner? Or did you make it? We weren't able to attend this year, so I'm loving being able to live vicariously through all the gentles who have uploaded their footage. :)

The burner is actually a chrystal ball holder found in a thrift store with an alcohol stove from a camping store.
