After i watched your Mandarin Lessons in Fluenz, I also start to watch your travel videos.. Ms. Sonia thanks for giving some tips and knowledge about travelling. You're such a great blessing to other people! Stay humble, healthy and keep safe always. And also you still look younger and beautiful 🌹🌹🌹
Sonia, you are an inspiring individual, especially to culture/travel lovers like me! I have been afraid of dropping my secure routine here in the states to explore the world and learn new languages, but your videos have given me a new energy. You're totally right; it's about having the experience and learning about yourself in the process. Thanks!
I enjoy your videos so far and I love Fluenz! Just received my French 1-5 and I've already thoroughly enjoyed working with the Fluenz Italian course. After working with Rosetta Stone, Living Language, Teach Yourself and others on several other languages, I can firmly say Fluenz is the best I've come across. Rest assured that 'word of mouth' advertising about Fluenz is picking up in the D.C. metropolitan area!
You're like me. I was born and raised in Germany, but I taught myself Spanish when I was 8 from friends and reading assembly instructions. French Club pres., 6th grade. Studied Japanese, also. I haven't studied in a while, but I can still pick up languages, quickly and mimic exactly what someone says in the right accent back to them. I love your site. I needed some airport travel tips. Me encanta mirando tus videos. Son muy divertidos.
The secret is to believe in what you have to give and work hard to see it through. I think the most important part is to stick to your plan even though it can get hard at times. Thanks for writing!
I love your approach to travelling your wish to 'rouse the traveller within' is exactly what I'm trying to do. I realised last year how much I really want to travel and not just see the world but understand and learn from different cultures. I'm trekking the Great Wall of China for charity at the end of June and its the first time I'll be travelling without my family but I can't wait! I love the concept of your videos, keep going! All the best from a new subscriber in London :)
Dang you were only 31 in this video Sonia!!!! I'm happy that you have the Fluenz Immersion in Mexico going so well, but I'm kind of sad that you weren't able to just totally dedicate yourself to youtube the entire time, you'd have millions of subs by now without a doubt, and the money for this channel would have finally started coming your way. I'm finally working on my Fluenz Spanish 1, and also as a supplement I'm cramming in the free government FSI Latin American Headstart Spanish as well and learning quickly thanks mainly to your great teaching. Hoping to see you in Mexico possibly someday buddy.... cheers !!!
I think you're an amazing person! You created your own company to help people learn new languages, thus made your living from something you love, that's what I think Oh! And you also often reply to (comments) people on the net! You're awesome! :)
I find your videos very professionally created and, as an aspiring youtube video creator, would love to know more about the way they are done, the equipment, programmes used etc. Will check out fluenz, I am hopeless at languages but agree that every word you use in the local language, even if you only have five in total, makes your experience and your interaction with locals that much deeper.
Am I wrong or do I see my wonderful Verona at 0:23? But I can't see any video about it on your channel...I wish I'll get to see it soon. Your take on things is just inspiring, and I'd love to hear what is it that you discovered in Verona. And congrats on your videos, they are a pleasure to watch. Plus, you are a language-lover and that makes me like you even more! :-)
sounds interesting, I read somewhere the ability to learn a language uses the same part of the brain as for reading music. I found this interesting because for me I find it easier to remember words if I see them written.
You have to visit Portugal. Cities like Lisbon, Porto and Guimarães are beautiful and full of stories. Portugal was born in Guimarães, and this city is this year's 'European Capital of Culture'. If ever you come to Portugal you can count on me to help you.
you are amazing--seriously! very open-minded, perceptive and smart! really inspires me! i'm german, so i'm excited how your german is coming off!;-) i'm sure, you're gonna perform brilliant! btw, you have a touch of jessica alba!:-)
Hi sonia, when you visit Poland you should think about skipping the tourist places like Warsaw and Krakow- Zakopane is the best place to visit during the winter/christmas time its just magical in the evening! During the summer, all poles will tell you Wroclaw is the most beautiful place! Zakopane in winter and Wroclaw during the summer- that's my tip ;-)
Check out my vlog called "Travel Tips: Learn Languages & Shooting Sonia's Travels!" I talk about what to do in those cases..My German is still a work in progress.. :)
München ist auch sehr schön !!! Dolce Vita in Deutschland !!! I would love to speak 5 languages but although I learned 3 during school I only speak German of course, English and un poco de espa~nol :) I would love to meet you and show you around if you visit Munich !!!
You are learning German? How is your progress? Grüße aus Deutschland, deine Show weckt immer so schön das Fernweh und deine Videos haben ein ganz besondere Atmosphäre. I can almost compete with your language skills, I speak German, English, French and Spanish fluently and I'm trying to add Portuguese to my list. I know some terms in Italian, but I had to stop, because I was mixing it up with spanish. Do you have a trick against that?
You don't have to leave your dogs behind (at least not always) if you don't want to, btw. My Yorkie-Schnauzer mix has been with me to 9 countries (and we leave for our 10th next week). :)
Hi @sediajones, I speak five languages with different degrees of Fluency (English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, and French) and I'm trying to learn German. How about yourself. Sonia
Visit Norway next, please! And I'm not talking Oslo and Bergen and Trondheim. You should visit the Vesteralen Island and the Lofoten! That I happen to be from this area has nothing to do with it. Ish. ^^

@colouringinlife Thanks!!! A good lense, and good natural light is always the best setting. Cannon 7D is what we use-- and premier for editing.
