What a great presentation that made this very easy to understand by someone contemplating surgery. Your patients are fortunate to have such an experienced and compassionate physician.

You didn't cover the option that I'm really interested in - hip resurfacing, be it the standard metal on metal or the newer ceramic on ceramic or metal on crosslink poly. I'm sure I did this differently than you, but I asked Google "hip resurfacing" and got 5.4 million results, blowing away all three of your "what people are talking about" results.

I am also looking into resurfacing. Total hip arthroplasty is so much more easy than HR. There are only 3 or 4 docs in the country that are qualified to perform this procedure. Lastly, as a device sales person for ZB I know that company’s will not invest in product that do not sell! If many docs got involved the story would change. However, we are all looking at old technology put in a new shinny box! Crosslink polyethylene and a robot thats really is a gimmick is really the things that changed! Huge bone loss and possible cobalt poisoning is still relevant so nothing huge has changed. Restricting gives you a new hip like you were a teen. So to me if more people are asking about HR, more docs will learn to do it! Sad but true.
