In reality today, Petroleum Engineers do not get involved with designing, planning or executing operations. Oilfield disciplines are highly segmented today than it was several decades ago, due to the need for more focus in certain areas, resulting in many more specialty job titles. In Exxon and Shell, the Petroleum Engineering function is sub-divided into Reservoir Engineering, Production Technology, Petrophysics. There is a completely different function called Well Engineering, which is sub-divided into Drilling, Completions, Interventions. The Facilities function is primarily responsbile for design, planning, construction and installation of platforms and subsea umbilical, risers and flowlines. A Petroleum Engineer's job is to model flow and they work on the evaluation side of things, not too much on the operational side of things. Not everything you see on RUclips is correct.
Petroleum Engineers gets paid way more than $90,000 and starting salary is way more than $60,000. Actual Median Salary for Petroleum Engineers are $129,000 and starting salary is $95,000 but really your salary depends on who you work for and how good of a worker you are.
Hello Here is Anil from India I want to study petroleum engineering Honours in Canada Is there any university in Canada to do this course? If there is any please suggest me
University of Alberta: petroleum engineering (the program) ranked fifth in the world U of Alberta's Petroleum engineering and mining engineering programs ranked highly in separate international rankings
@@HamzaKhan-ss1yw Based on what I have read from engineering graduates, only a 4year engineer degree is needed to work as an engineer in Canada. Friends of mine became engineers in mining, civil and software.
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to learn about best way to get into oil rigs try Alkarno Oil Work Alchemist (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy got great results with it.
