ReFretting a Gibson DLX EC Acoustic Guitar with Fretboard Edge Binding - Doug Wilkes Workshop

Doug has removed all the old frets using an old household iron to heat up the frets and soften the glue, thus enabling easier removal of the fret wire on this Gibson Songwriter Deluxe EC Studio Electro Acoustic Guitar.
Doing a refret on a neck with edge binding is much more tricky, particularly when you need to increase the depth of the fret slots to accommodate the new fret wire.

Doug is the man Carl, just watching him take his time with those frets on that Gibson acoustic the broke the mold when they made Doug, I wish he was in the states I’d love to have him build me a Guitar!!
