In today’s clean with me I am unpacking and organizing my office as well as putting a new rug under Kensley’s little table in her room! I also washed my bedding and put that back on and did some light cleaning in the kitchen!

Try maybe just turn it around so the front shows when you come in the room you would have a cord running to the plug but It would be behind you and when your sitting at desk you can look out . But it still looks pretty how your have it . Enjoying watching you decorate your new home .

You could corner your desk and have the front facing out. And run your cords down the baseboards. :) then when someone comes in the room you can see :)

Nice Rug. I get it.
Poke a hole in your rug and then run the cord under the rug behind you. It may still have to show a bit depending on size of rug and distance from wall but that is what we did. You could also have an electrician put an electrical outlet in your floor. We had that in a large family room we had.
I think I’m going to go with the poking a hole thing. It makes me feel better knowing other people did this.

The place is coming together great and I have same problem with desk. I am not crazy about having my back to door but putting an outlet in the floor is a lot of work. I have thought about buying a two piece desk front work area and back computer space but my room is smaller and I love having a comfy sitting area in there.

Your home 🏡 is very Beautiful I’m so happy for you and your family !!! A little tip on the placement of your desk you could always just turn it around where you can see the front of it but not have it so far out into the middle of the floor . That way you don’t have so much cord to cover and everything isn’t around the walls if that makes sense . I’m sure what ever you decide will look great good. Have a great rest of your week

I would put the desk at a either a 90 degree angle to the wall so that you can look out of the window and across at your daughter while you work.

Loved watching you clean the new house!! Also, for your desk dilemma and having it in the center of the room; your hubby or an electrician could install a floor outlet maybe? This way it’s tailored to where you’d need it for your desk. Some homes in the 50’s had them in the living rooms that way so they could have table lamps near couches and not be along the wall. Also, mean girls...UGH!
I am seriously considering this as an option! I didn’t know that about the 50’s. It seems ahead of their time like why did they stop because lots of times I’ve wished we had one in the middle of the room 😂

Is it possible for you to place one side of the desk against a side wall and use the outlet from there? Making an l-shape with the desk and the wall. The desk won't necessarily be in the middle of the room, but your back won't be to the opening either.

They are by the brand Columbia. They came free with our mattress. They are cooling ones. They no longer feel cooling but they are nice pillows!

Just some thoughts - I have my desk perpendicular to the wall, I would put it off the wall that has the file cabinet and would just move the file cabinet more to the right of where it is (in this video) . I would also keep the cubby piece along the back wall for more hidden storage, decor and lamps and a place to put a cup of coffee while I sat in the chair and read and a few baskets or pretty fabric cloth bins (Target has some pretty designs.) I love your furniture, I have a huge executive desk that is not comfortable, I am only 5'3" and my desk is man size.

Quick Tip : -about a new Rug , how they curl and flatten .
Run an iron over your carpet , place iron material over and give it a steam and press along the edges where they curl up

The only thing I can think of for the cord is getting one of those cord strips that match your flooring? Or a rug positioned just so. That way the cord can go down the side (covered). And under the rug. Good luck

How bout trying to put your desk in the corner to where the decortive facing the center of the room, this way you are still near a outlet. But instead of far in to the corner, angle it as if your in the corner but pull out some so your not deep in the corner n easy to get in n out. But least your facing the center of the room

That’s what I do about the shirts underneath we paid 20g for our hard wood floors so when we move furniture it’s high anxiety but not with the cloths under neath 🤪😄

To have your desk in the middle of the room and hide your cords, you can cut a small hole in the rug after you know exactly where you want your rug and desk to be.
I am leaning towards this idea. I hate the thought of cutting a hole in my rug but I think its a great option! I have seen a few ladies do this and it turns out great!
