1. Accuse your opponent of doing exactly what you are doing.
2. Ridicule what you are planning to do.
You don't need to look any farther than the replies to this thread to see many examples of exactly that. Russia is not the only place with professional propagandists.

Russian State Propagandists should be assigned the automatic status of "Category II War Criminal defendants", a presumption of law rebuttable by adducing cogent and convincing evidence to the contrary. Probably a prison term of 20 years, plus the immediate forfeiture of all their assets, would be appropriate under all the circumstances for most of these interesting individuals.
