He is a fairly popular governor, in a southern swing state (NC), won an election during a red wave year (2016), isn't super young so people will trust his experience, isn't super old either. I think it's time the news media stopped bracketing and placing bets on future political races and started reporting on what really is news, like how bills affect us and what is happening in our cities and the world other than future political face offs. Think of all the hot air and air time wasted cheering or booing somebody that could drop out of politics, be in prison or be dead. I really miss the days when the media steamroller didn't take off until closer to the primaries. I think it's time the news media stopped bracketing and placing bets on future political races and started reporting on what really is news, like how bills affect us and what is happening in our cities and the world other than future political face offs. Think of all the hot air and air time wasted cheering or booing somebody that could drop out of politics, be in prison or be dead. I really miss the days when the media steamroller didn't take off until closer to the primaries. I think a large number of voters are thoroughly sick of politics by the time we actually need to make a decision.
