    The only thing I would do differently wen using a snow thrower/ blower is to make sure to discharge it away from the house or car so as to not throw rocks or whatever might be in the snow in a window. but awesome video thanks for sharing this

    Nice video. I enjoy watching the old garden tractors at work. I thought about getting a single stage thrower for my John deere 430 for the 4 to 6 inch snow falls. I mostly use the push blade. I use the old style 47 snowblower when there's a foot or more snow. It's nice to have a variety of implements to use, as you already know. Thanks for the video.

    I might have the chance to buy a John Deere tractor. Not sure the model but it's from the late 70s early 80s. A buddy at work has it. He wants to get his other tractor running before he decides to sell it. Would come with a mower, blower and plow. I have always loved the old tractors, lawn, garden and the big ones. I myself have a 91 Craftsman 2 that just won't quit. Going to be mowing lawn with it today. It seems the old tractors never die they just keep working.

Unfortunately it took 2x longer with the 400 than my other tractor so I sold it because it was so hard to find attachments for. I have a 1973 JD 140 that is set up really nice and works really well.

      Single stage are great in wet slop and light snowfalls of fluffy snow. The 2 stage is better in deep snow and takes less power to run. It's why I have one tractor with a single stage, one with a 2 stage and one with a blade... Solves the entire problem, and I get more toys...

      On anything but smooth pavement or very frozen level ground you want the blower up an inch or so to keep from digging into the gravel or dirt. I blow off part of the lawn for the short legged dog. Even with a 1" gap I still shave off high spots now and then

    anyone know anything about an old 1969 allis chalmers 716H steering. mine seemed to skip teeth on the gear or something and the steering is all out of wack. it will only turn to the right not the left it hits the steering stop?

    • @Blazer02LS
      @Blazer02LS 4 года назад

      That is an open sector design with bushings for the steering shaft and needle bearings on the the sector gear shaft. If they are worn the gears will not mesh and you could easily get the issue you have. If it has worn or broken teeth then you might find good used parts out there.

    • @Blazer02LS
      @Blazer02LS 4 года назад

      If the gears are OK and tight it is more likely something bent like a tie rod. I would unhook the tie rod from the steering sector to the front axle and see if the steering wheel and gears now operate OK. Then turn the wheel lock to lock and then count it back to center. Then set the front wheels straight. Now see if the tie rod you removed will bolt back on without moving the wheel much. Then try it.

      Something is either bent or damaged. Take a look at how the linkage connects to the spindles, it's possible it bent or moved. At the steering gear end the parts are also bolted together, you may need to pull them apart and adjust it there to get it correct
