  • A recent high school graduate and self-proclaimed “selfish kid” is here to encourage everyone to adopt a more altruistic mindset. Through years of volunteering and service, Neil has experienced firsthand the joys, impact, and collective benefits that altruism has helped him achieve. High school student Neil Dogra has completed over six hundred hours of volunteer service with Milwaukee-based non-profit organizations. Yet, throughout his childhood, Neil held a deep aversion to volunteering, considering it to be an unrewarding, one-sided exchange. So, what made him change his mind? In recounting his journey to loving service, Neil explores the impact of personalized service and unfolds his formula for mutual growth. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    school research assignment moment-
otherwise, this is pretty motivational to hear.
I hadn't really thought up of nor thought about doing community service until it was mandatory to do.
At first, i dreaded that, but after talking it out and hearing / seeing others commentate about it, I somewhat look forward to maybe contribute to this society by doing community service
