Cambria Tevis omg killing eve is like Christina quit surgery and became James Bond lmfao I LOvE that show I watched when it came on every week so excited for season 2
I have never got over Sandra leaving GA. I cry a river at that scene. "We are not finished, we have to dance it out, that's how we finish. He is very dreamy, but he is not the sun.... You are."
She is fantastic. Can‘t they cast her for Ocean‘s 9? She would fit perfectly into the all female cast and yet give it a new edge that you would need for a sequel. Listen, Hollywood!
@@fallingstarz13 i love that scene...i had never seen her in ny other movies bfore...dat scene really brought my attention to her...n later wen i saw grey's anatomy i was like its dat mmmhmm mmmhmm lady from princess diaries😂😂😂
I'm a huge fan, when I started watching Greys Anatomy I realised that for me Cristina was the real star and if not for her character which was brilliant, witty in a dry, sarcastic way, Meredith would not have been a rounded character. Its as if they were one person which really worked. Im sure many fans felt that way which is why we all nearly had cardiac arrests when the news came that she was leaving Greys. I do understand her reasons though, shes far too talented to stay with one show, we are lucky she stayed as long as she did. Loved her in the film Under the Tuscan sun I think it was called. She really can play any role xxx
this is so powerful and well-spoken. Thank you Sandra for being such a strong and inspiring role model for fellow Asians growing up in Western society. your point on having so much love and respect for your parents whilst also having that immense pressure to make them proud and in a way repay the sacrifices they've made really hit home. I grew up watching greys, and you and Lucy liu were the first strong Asian females I had ever seen in mainstream media. 17 year old me cried when I saw the news article announcing your departure from the show. Thanks for everything 💛
I love that in every interview she speaks A LOT because she clearly gets so into what she's saying. It feels like she's constantly on a dialogue in which only herself takes part
Her star quality just reaches for you through the screen. So happy to see her interviewed. I'm still shocked to this day that she has not received an Emmy from Grey's.
I could listen to her speak forever. My heart ached when they showed a Greys scene, i miss her so much. Such a strong, intelligent, powerful woman who is inspiring so many!!!
a role model to everyone not just that ethic group. we all need to practice consciousness on a daily basis and strive for a better self in order to inspire and influence changes on our world, community, life and so on. it is indeed a powerful message but one thing we should all strive for is erasing the things that divide us like ethnic groups, etc. and bring everyone together as a world embracing community where everyone is accepted and included.
Amy Pearsall she referred to herself and her parents as “Asian American” in the video but I think she’s referring to the North American continent which includes Canada
I really love how Sandra went beyond her experiences in her acting career and gave us a huge perspective about life and our existence. This is something that a person could only say after living and walking in life for years and that says a lot about her personal experiences and thoughtfulness as a person. I can’t explain how this interview pierces me through the screen. Whenever I feel down or uninspired in life, I just watch this interview and feel like I have a purpose again. I am thankful that CAPE did this interview with her because I've never heard of something as authentic, inspiring, and powerful as this. Sandra just has this aura within her wherein she doesn't even have to be pretentious in order seem substantial because her thoughtfulness about life radiates through her words and actions. I think is also the reason as to why her character as Cristina Yang was so impactful in Grey’s
The amount of energy and animation she brings is what I love so much about Sandra Oh! She's helped me embrace my asian culture and find acceptance in my ethnic background.
Sandra makes a crucial point for ALL of us: Waiting for something outside ourselves to happen leads to stagnation. That's giving up our power to an undesignated someone. Whatever we can do for ourselves, whether it's filling our cups by choosing to enjoy life or doing our parts in creating for ourselves and others--that is owning our power and worth. I'm glad she put that out there.
“Go out and Have a good Time!!!” What she said! I love her! AND she is Canadian. Yes we feel represented Sandra and we freaking love you. Keep having a good time!
I just F#**ing love you Sandra! I will NEVER get over the time, an undeserving actress winning over you at the Emmy's, when you clearly deserved that recognition.
She is everything, I miss Cristina so much. But she gave us the best ten seasons, and I am so beyond proud and happy of her for all of her accomplishments shes had the past few years since greys.
What she says resonates so deeply with me on every level. Especially about not even knowing what you want because of the inherit tremendous pressure that comes from being first generation westerner from immigrant parents.
Beautiful! I love Sandra Oh so much! She's wonderful and fantastic. I do not have words to describe her, Sandra Oh is perfect! How not to love this strong and talented actress!
I first saw all the CAPE videos of the Asian influencers 2 weeks ago. And I got glued to them, I watched everyone of them and was like “Where is Sandra Oh?!” And when I saw this I was like “YES!” I am moved and inspired by all of these influencers! And I know I will get there in a couple years. And maybe have one of my very own CAPE interviews. So I will keep striving! Thank you 🙏🏼 😍
Wow, this was so inspiring. You are a wonderful actor, and this is proof to your parents that you do affect change. My favorite actor/ character on Greys ever, please come back!! At least when it feels right, but eventually!
she has this lively laugh that lightens up the whole place. she is one great actor . I wish she could act more an more movies n series. her talent is one to die for
She is not only smart but also very eloquent. Her English is very clear and articulate so its easy to understand not only for me ESL student but also for auto captioning(?) you can see it catches every word she says.
She is such a role model! such elegance, intelligence and confidence flows in the way she talks, I wish someday I could be as sure about myself as she as.
I miss her so much on Grey's Anatomy, miss her voice and her sincerity everytime she speaks. I admire and i really like this awesome woman. Love you so much Ms. Sandra Oh
One of my favourite actresses!!! Love her! The day she left Grey´s was the day i stopped watching the show. Had to cry so hard watching the dance scene before she left..... She is so talented! And she chooses wisely. If she does a movie or TV Show, you can count on that it will be great.
Dear Sandra Oh, Loves from India, Asia , I recently started watching Grey's Anatomy, n l'm fan of your art. And by this interview, how much you are rooted towards your family, your culture and your community, You deserve massive respect..
Christina Yang got me through college.Thank you Sandra for portraying such a great character and helping young Asian American girls believe they can excel in anything they put their minds to.
She is one of my top 3 favorite actors of all time. No one possesses the versatility this woman does on screen. Simple as that. AND YOU BETTER COME BACK TO GREY'S BEFORE IT ENDS, GIRL. LIKE, DAMN.
We all absolutely love (and terribly miss) her as Cristina but can we also appreciate her role in Princess Diaries. Her lines crushed every scene. Funny and smart and beautiful Sandra ♡ bless her
I can completely understand her struggle in explaining how suffocating our family ties could be. Of course our parents (esp ones who were immigrants that sacrificed so much) are our rock and support in so many things except when it comes to pursuing a career in the world of the arts. In the same exact way as Sandra I love dancing and i know its my passion but im studying right now to pursue another profession and I feel like it's slowly drowning my voice inch by inch. I wish I could have her courage in risking my security to do what I love. She is such an inspiration and a talented women!
Sandra is just so amazing and fabulous! I fell in love with her acting skills watching Grey's Anatomy and started watching other things that she was in about a year ago. She is very talented!💕
Sandra's interviews are so interesting to watch...because she totally speaks from her heart and she does it so so well. Each time she reveals a different facet of her personality and i love her even more ! she actually gets you thinking !!
Everything she talked about from navigating the love for immigrant parents and yet staying true to your own individual desires hit home so, so much. Thank you immensely to CAPE for producing these videos. Everytime I watch one it reminds me that I'm not alone in figuring out what it means to be an Asian American who wants to work in entertainment. Sandra's is particularly special having binge watched every season of Grey's Anatomy in high school during the MAGIC era because of how she played Cristina Yang
I fell in love with Sandra Oh when she played Bambi Kanetaka in Tales of the City..? She was brilliant. Tales of the City by Amistead Maupins is one of the most entertaining BBC mini-series ever. If you want to know what life in San Francisco was like in the 70's, this is the show for you. Still waiting for the later years as each of these characters aged. The series was only the first third of the series. Brilliant with Olympia Dukakas, Laura Linley, Thomas Gibson, Donald Moffat, just to name a couple of the amazing cast. You will be happy you watched it.
ahh that binding loyalty I truly understand, like I don't know what to do I just know I want to make my parents proud and I know I want to help them like they helped me.
Who else came to this vid cause they love Cristina in greys
Isaak Tejada yes I sure did I saw the thumbnail and clicked on this video
Meeee
You should see Killing Eve on Hulu too! It is soo good. I got the Sandra Oh fix I had been craving since she left Greys.
Cambria Tevis omg killing eve is like Christina quit surgery and became James Bond lmfao I LOvE that show I watched when it came on every week so excited for season 2

Silvia Nyambura yes yes yes girl yes
Me tooooooooo *bawling*
maaaaaaaaaaaan !
omg exactly
Silvia Nyambura 😭😭😭😭😭😔I thought she would return
Everyone from Grey's anatomy is getting old but she just looks the same🤣🤣🤣
That's cause most of them are white
Even more beautiful.
yeah she’s much older than ellen but ellen looks a decade older.
Asians don't raisin! (I'm an Asian American too) 😊
wildflower Ellen is 50 and Sandra is 48
when she moved forward in her seat though....I could feel that energy in her speech
Tori A .
extremely well spoken. You have much more than a degree, Sandra.
She is fantastic. Can‘t they cast her for Ocean‘s 9? She would fit perfectly into the all female cast and yet give it a new edge that you would need for a sequel. Listen, Hollywood!
She had a tiny role in Princess Diaries and totally stole every scene she was in.
Daniella Robins Gupta. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. The queen is coming!
fallingstarz13 "To Grove High School."

Sandra says "Change is slow" and I am sitting here bawling my eyes out over that expression...wow!
Sandra is so deeply thoughtful and has the ability to express herself so wonderfully.
4:15, "Change is slow," that spoke volumes and I can see her getting emotional.
She just has such a special vibe not many people have. Just love her!!!!
Seeing Christina saying she doesn’t have a masters in anything triggers me
Not Christina,Sandra Oh. But I get it. She is just so talented. I really enjoy her work.
Every Grey's Anatomy's fan: "Baby, come back!"
I love that in every interview she speaks A LOT because she clearly gets so into what she's saying. It feels like she's constantly on a dialogue in which only herself takes part
So. much. respect. for this woman. We are lucky to have her.
Love her as Christina in Grey's Anatomy. But she's so much more than that.
Was my favorite character on Arly$$
Her star quality just reaches for you through the screen. So happy to see her interviewed. I'm still shocked to this day that she has not received an Emmy from Grey's.
I am a Huge fan 😍 and I still miss seeing you in Grey's anatomy.
I stopped watching after she left.
I LOVE how she speaks so strongly and eloquently.
2:18 to 2:50...I love how she put into words what I have always struggled to articulate to my non-Indian friends.
I could listen to her speak forever. My heart ached when they showed a Greys scene, i miss her so much. Such a strong, intelligent, powerful woman who is inspiring so many!!!
what a powerful message! She is such an inspiring role model for all Asian Americans!
She actually is Asian Canadian; but I agree she is a role model.

well said! and soo true!!

Just because I am white doesn’t mean I can’t see her as a role model!
I came because she is my favorite actress. From the first time I saw her on Grey's Anatomy, I knew she she would be a hit.
I was a semi-regular extra on a TV show with a young Sandra Oh, filmed in Ottawa, called 'Denim Blues'. She was (and still is) a very awesome person.
"If you want to appease me, compliment my brain " Christina Yang
Dr. Yang ... how much I miss you!!!!
You left behind sooo many patients...😩

Our "Black Panther" is Simu Liu... also a Canadian..lol!!! You are a wonderful role model.. We are blessed with your great work of art. Thank You!!

She is so eloquent. I am genuinely enjoying listening to her speak.
I only clicked on this because I’m obsessed with Grey’s. I never expected to watch the whole thing. Sandra Oh is brilliant and captivating.
Her energy and her spirit is amazing. She is a very very special person :)
Sandra is an excellent speaker! Her speeches are always so powerful and graceful with logical structure.
I just F#**ing love you Sandra! I will NEVER get over the time, an undeserving actress winning over you at the Emmy's, when you clearly deserved that recognition.

Her real personality just like Cristina Yang!

I don't think so. I like Christina Yang very much, but I like Sandra Oh better.
