good choice on the s85! switch to motorad 880090 and some redline 5w50 and harden your crank and you are GOOD TO GO! spun a rod bearing and learned the hard way but after the rebuild the engine was bulletproof up until the day i sold it
When your bearing spun.. did you replace the connecting rod? Mine spun as well but I can still see the marking lettering on the connecting rod. Getting the crank fixed new bearing.. but I don't know if I should replace the rod.. any info would help alot.
Very nice, but it’s not an LCI on 2007.. surely pre-LCI? It has pre-LCI front & rear light clusters… LCI was 2008 as far as I was aware. I have an ‘06 630i as my daily driver. I have considered an M6 or M5 with the S85 V10, but they have just too much potential to destroy you financially..
Nice, I think you should zoom in just before disassembly as you work. Great help. I changed fluids, few parts 214, Km same bearings M5 love it ! change oil every 3,500 always warm up oil before racing. No engine codes. Had bad clutch position sensor was very hard to change. Great Channel.
Awesome car! Bmw community should give you huge respect for putting these timeless machines back on the road! Respect 🫡 Hopefully I'll be the owner of this one! 💪🏻
I have this exact car!! I picked it up last year and changed all those suspension parts lol, also worked on the abs and It needed a front right wheel speed sensor and that took care of every code it had. Mine sat in a driveway for years so has a bit of sun damage, wish it was as mint looking as this one! I love this car soooo much and I don't even drive it like its meant to be driven. I have to do rod bearings for peace of mind and its sounding like it may need a clutch soon. I'm planning to sell it tho cause I have too many cars and I need to downsize
See that's the the thing with these bmws they keep asking for parts ....you fix one thing,2 months later mainfold, head gasket ,timing chain, engine good ???then thermostat, coolant lines it's always something
@Daniel Singer it breaks My heart such beautiful and fast cars old school tooo ,I rather my heart broken then wallet sadly 😥.......but lemme hear your side of story when it comes to most reliable bmw ?? Both e60s I purchased was junk 530i was solid but famous transmission slip with limp mode happened then same with 550i +gasket nd coolant leak which later messed with the Cats .......I'm giving bmw one last time but Idk what to purchase while obtaining the fast and comfort life
You might get cheap fuel in the US but the cost of parts and shops seems extortionate. Over here in the UK a 4 wheel laser alignment is about £100/$125 and if you needed tyres fitted, although I’ve not done that I wouldn’t imagine you would be charged any more than £10/$13 per wheel for fitting 🤔
As a detailer I see lot of work. Paint need heavy correction and leather cleaning and protection. I think it should be part of a project! Good luck - I am looking forward to see what's next.
@@paperandmedals8316 I still remember the searing vinyl seats that would scorch the back of your thighs in the '70's in the summer living in Ohio! Hot summer is so relative 🙂
HI, do you realize that car has mis matched tires on it? The fronts appear to be continental DWS's and the rear appear to be summer tires. I enjoy your vids. Did you ever determine why the other M engine was froze ?????
Bro. Just break down & buy a tire charger & balancer. You will make you money back on that so fast. I'm in the process of getting one myself. Shops want 50 to swap a motorcycle & atv tire. I'm like no thank you. I'll just buy a machine. But I feel your pain.
@@NathansBMWWorkshop 100k miles, paint looks okay. May need tires. The guy says it needs main bearings, but I suspect he meant rod bearings. If it spun a main bearing, would lock up
Really fun car , coil overs and modifications for to be as tight as possible, enjoying going through gears:) ram kit also , should be little bit more hp on it. Also changed seat configuration so it would be mono colors, white and black.
Ah after closer inspection the e63 e64 had a little different interior than the m5 , this car does have the 2 drain plugs like a lci , i was thinking these wheels were different but yesterday i was looking into it and it isnt, however that being said i cant be perfect on every car , i do know ALOT but cant be perfect like everyone else on youtube 😂

So excited to find all of this! I feel like I'm late to the party as I've bought my e64 M6 2 years ago. It's a beautiful car!
Tail light gaskets. Did you say that already?.....and clear the drains. Love this car.
Keep up the good work.
Started watching you since the begging of your RUclips journey when you were fixing e53s.

Loving the S85 content! I've never seen a VANOS pump chain tensioner break, interesting
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️excellent content! Is a manual conversion cost prohibitive?
More of the same with a twist - excellent ! Bring it on !

The paint is actually very nice on this car , we just sprayed it off at the car wash before the video , didnt wipe it at all yet
Am I better off getting a 08-10 650i or 528i, same years
Congrats on the cool new car. You've found your niche with the S85! I've been wanting you to do one of these ... I see one in my future 🙂
