I hope we do not get too much rot with all the rain we are getting😱. First, we had to deal with the extreme heat and drought and, now, with the monsoon! I consider myself lucky since I do not have as many orchids as you do and I can move ALL the potted ones under the roof on the lanai😉😍

Hi Natasha. I enjoy seeing all your beautiful orchids. And your dogs 🐶, too precious. Then there’s princess Martha. We are very hot 🥵 here in Ohio. Sunday we get up into the 90’s for a long stretch and no rain. Wish Florida could send some rain north. Take care and I hope your back gets better soon.💐🏝️🥰🤗

What a pleasure to be able to watch an orchid video from your garden. Things are looking good! You always have some beauties in flower. Like your idea of making the orchid jewelry with Miss Martha. A great idea!!!! Your sample shown on the video is lovely. Let me know when you add them to your website. We've had 13" of rain here in n.e. Broward over the past two days. Thank goodness the area where we live hasn't seen flooding like Miami and Hollywood have. Take care and stay safe.

You're very lucky to have so much rain. Our river has dried up completely, and I don't think it's going to come back at all! It's so sad. I would give anything for a long, terrencial rain to fill up the Pedernales River right outside of Austin Tx

Your tolumnias are doing so well! I have about 9 of them and I have not been able to get them to bloom . . . until now! I have one - just one - in spike!!! It's the Jairak Flyer 'Sahara' and I am so excited to finally get one to bloom. I get new growth all the time. I've got some on wood, some in clay pots with medium and some on your clay brownies, taco and mini pots. I keep telling myself that they are still small plants and I just need to give them time.

Good Morning Natasha, The Bulbophyllum lobbii 'Kathy's Gold' AM/AOS. I purchased mine from Krull Smith and it had many new rhizomes and flowers this spring.

Hi been thinking about you. The rain and flooding in Sarasota and other areas is scary. I’m glad you are ok

Good to see you Natalia ! it's been awhile. I realize the rain causes you issues with fungus, but I wish I could grow outdoors (here in Memphis) What few Orchids I have remaining are under lights... but not doing anything /blooming etc.
Had another 5 week hiatus after falling, breaking 3 bones in an arm, surgery then rehab facility. I swear I spend more time in Rehab (physical) than Amy Winehouse.
Your earring creations are pretty.. reminded me of an old AOS member who 'dipped' small Orchids in 14KT _GOLD back in the 70's . Her name: Mickey Nax. I bought 1 a tie tack (when Men wore tie tacks) it was a little tampansia {sp} got more compliments over that.
Enjoy time with your family... & try not to black rot.

For anyone who was at the OS meeting with Thanh he said you don't need fertilizer to make your orchids bloom. Maybe if they're in a tree where lots of birds visit they'll be ok. In my personal experience though, I used to not fertilize because I had heard it's unnecessary and I believed that when I first started but everything except a plain white Phal. quit blooming for years, and that white Phal. gave successively smaller spikes and the root growth slowed. I blamed it on lack of sunlight (northern exposure with midday sun blocked by a stairwell). It wasn't easy to get started with fertilizer either, everything started growing so much faster and bigger lots of them were splitting their leaves where they shouldn't and one Phal. cracked its crown, not from rot or burns or anything but just from growing so fast it split the stem and it shot out four keikis (one of which I think either you or Martha got, it would be a no id Phal. mounted diagonally in a small square wooden basket). Now almost everything is growing well and I have blooms that I forgot what they looked like it's been so long. DON'T NOT FERTILIZE!

He referred to the orchids that grow in their natural habitat. We pull them out of their habitats, so they need some boosters. His thought was that still, light and water is extremely important.

@@JustOneMoreOrchid Oh yeah, in the wild there's no fertilizer. I must have missed that bit.
